A multicentric study to evaluate the use of relative retention times in targeted proteomics.

Despite the maturity reached by targeted proteomic strategies, reliable and standardized protocols are urgently needed to enhance reproducibility among different laboratories and analytical platforms, facilitating a more widespread use in biomedical research. Toxicity reduction of ochratoxin A by lactic acid bacteria.

Abstract Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a mycotoxin produced by the metabolism of fungus belonging to the genus Aspergillus and Penicillium. In this paper we report, the capacity of different cultures of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) to degrade OTA present in MRS broth at both pH 3.5 and 6.5. A study of OTA reduction during gastrointestinal digestion carried out with the LAB was also performed. Genetically elevated gamma-glutamyltransferase and Alzheimer's disease

Observational epidemiological evidence supports a linear and independent association between serum gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) concentrations and the risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the causality of this association has not been previously investigated. We sought to assess the causal nature of this association using a Mendelian randomization (MR) approach. International consensus guidelines for scoring the histopathological growth patterns of liver metastasis

Extricating New Physics Scenarios at DUNE with High Energy Beams

The proposed Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) utilizes a wide-band on-axis tunable muon-(anti)neutrino beam with a baseline of 1300 km to search for CP violation with high precision. Given the long baseline, DUNE is also sensitive to effects due to non-standard neutrino interactions (NSI) which can interfere with the standard 3-flavor oscillation paradigm. In this Letter, we exploit the tunability of the DUNE neutrino beam over a wide-range of energies and utilize a new theoretical metric to devise an experimental strategy for separating oscillation effects due to NSI from the standard 3-flavor oscillation scenario.
