There are different ways of translating popular songs or pop music. They can be translated for a volume that collects lyrics only to be read, to understand the meaning of the song’s message. If the song must be translated to be sung, for the performance, and you do not want to change the music, the only way to go is that of adaptation, in the appropriate choice of rhyming words that must adapt to the musical, mask (Low 2008). Our thesis, supported by three original case studies whose results we will study in the transition from a foreign language to Italian, is that this adaptation can coincide with what is now called transcreation.

Artykuł poświęcony jest analizie translatorycznej powieści Brygidy Helbig pt. Niebko (2013) oraz jej niemieckiego przekładu (Kleine Himmel, 2019). Porównanie obu wersji pozwala stwierdzić liczne rozbieżności. Przyjęta perspektywa translatologiczna ma charakter interdyscyplinarny, łączy elementy językoznawcze oraz literaturoznawcze. Wnioski z analizy stanowią przyczynek do refleksji na temat przekładu literatury interkulturowej, zjawiska autotranslacji oraz redefinicji pojęcia „przekład”.

Characteristics of the translation product are often used in translation process research as predictors for cognitive load, and by extension translation difficulty. In the last decade, user-activity information such as eye-tracking data has been increasingly employed as an experimental tool for that purpose. In this paper, we take a similar approach. The use of comics to communicate health-related topics has aroused growing interest in their translation from English, as well as from other languagessuch as French. Acknowledging the twofold challenge posed by a medium and a language combination that have seldom been explored in medical translation training, we will compare and contrast the Spanish translation of the French comic L’incroyable histoire de la médecine to make a didactic contribution to the training of medical translators. We will study the iconographic and textual codes present in the comic before presenting a proposal for its use in educational settings.

The article traces the evolution of the publishing practice in the field of translations undertaken by Alberto Mondadori after the Second World War. Through some letters of the publisher to his collaborators, the analysis highlights the nature of his choices, which were often motivated not only by the desire to publish complete works, but also by personal and political reasons, such as the desire of self‑affirmation, to introduce himself as a “new publisher in a new era”, in clear antithesis with the past.

The article focuses on the German Civil Code and its translations into Polish. After it came into force in 1900, the Civil Code was also binding in the western parts of contemporary Poland until it was repealed by a unified Polish Civil Code after the Second World War. Selected usual word combinations in the German civil law have been analysed, in order to check whether their Polish counterparts are still usual in the Polish legal language. Therefore the article deals with a question which according to Lombardi’s opinion (2007: 119) is a desideratum research.
