New insights in the metabolic behaviour of PAO under negligible poly-P reserves

[EN] In a previous study the authors confirmed the ability of PAOs to perform GAO metabolism in short-term experiments. However, what happens when PAOs are exposed to poly-P shortage for an extended period of time? The answer to this question was the aim of this work from a macroscopic and microscopic point of view. Therefore, the poly-P was removed from a PAO enriched SBR and maintained without poly-P during five solid retention time. Microalgae cultivation in wastewater: nutrient removal from anaerobic membrane bioreactor effluent

This study investigated the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus from the effluent of a submerged anaerobic membrane bioreactor (SAnMBR) by means of a lab-scale photobioreactor in which algae biomass was cultured in a semi-continuous mode for a period of 42 days. Solids retention time was 2 days and a stable pH value in the system was maintained by adding CO2. Nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations in the SAnMBR effluent fluctuated according to the operating performance of the bioreactor and the properties of its actual wastewater load. En este trabajo analizamos en qué medida se ha incorporado la Educación Ambiental en la Red de M unicipios firmantes de la Carta de Xàtiva en la Provincia de Valencia. This work focuses on the development of a regional P-T-path from the Malpica-Lamego Ductile Shear Zone, NW Portugal, based on the microstructures of shearband boudins evolved during progressive simple shear. The combination of microstructural analysis, fluid inclusion studies, crystallographic pre- ffered orientation and fractal geometry analyses, allows to link several stages in the internal evolution of the boudin to regional P-T conditions. Mineral distribution pattern of Variscan post-tectonic granites from Vila Pouca de Aguiar Pluton (NE Portugal) were analyzed with methods partially based on fractal geometry and, with respect to rock inhomogeneity and anisotropy. The result of the analysis provides information about magmatic flux and mineral equilibrium processes in a crystallizing magma chamber. In addition, the used methods may also provide important information for the ornamental rock industry, because they allow fast and automatic evaluation of economic rock parameters.
Interpretative model of shearband boudins internal evolution in HT ductile shear zones

The internal structure of a shearband boudin resulting from an original igneous, hydrothermal or metamorphic segregation tabular rigid body is a subject of scientific interest. It allows understanding the deformation mechanisms acting on homogeneous quartz aggregate activated during simple shear progressive deformation. This work is focused on the characterization of the internal evolution of shearband boudins, using microtextural analysis, fluid inclusions studies, fractal and OCP analysis. The proposed interpretative model shows the several structural stages that can be well established during the process of the internal evolution of shearband boudin.
Correlación entre las temperaturas y las precipitaciones de las estaciones meteorológicas de Valencia-Viveros y la Devesa de l'Albufera

Se realiza una comparación de las estaciones meteorológicas ubicadas en la Devesa de l'Albufera y Valencia-Viveros para el período comprendido entre agosto (1986), mes y año de inicio de los registros de la primera estación, y diciembre (1990). El estudio climático ha demostrado que ambas estaciones pertenecen a la misma subregión fitoclimática (IV3), correspondiendo a un clima mediterráneo: C4s4 -Devesay C2s2 -Valencia-. Bioclimáticamente quedan incluidas en el piso de vegetación Termomediterráneo cálido de ombroclima Seco.
