Compliance and non-compliance with a superordinate directive document

Published version of an article in the journal: Public Organization Review. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s11115-012-0206-7 We report a study of how a Norwegian regional health care agency directive document was complied with at the subordinate hospital level. We found tight coupling for the activity and budget requirements and loose coupling and decoupling for the other requirements in the document. Furthermore, rather than pursuing their own self- and group interests the hospital actors held an overall effectiveness logic.

The use of MoV reagents, and in particular MoCl5, in organic synthesis is surveyed. The oxidative treatment of aromatic substrates is the most common application. The unique properties of these reagents are due to their high oxidative power combined with exquisite Lewis acid properties. In several examples MoV reagents outperform other common oxidative coupling reagents. C–C bond formation through inter- and intramolecular oxidative coupling can lead to selective formation of five- to eight-membered ring systems. New Route to Polynuclear Ni(II) and Cu(II) Complexes with Bridging Oxime Groups That Are Inaccessible by Conventional Preparations

A series of new polynuclear complexes of divalent Ni and Cu with 2-cyano-2-oximino-acetic acid (later AACO2-) were obtained as the result of the ligand modification reaction in the process of complexation, using 2-cyano-2-oximino-acetates such as methyl- (later as MeCO), and ethyl- (as ECO later on). Synthesized compounds were characterized by spectroscopic methods, thermal analysis, magnetochemistry, and X-ray crystallography. Crystal data revealed the formation of the dimeric [Ni(AACO)(H2O)3]2·H2O (1), trimeric K2[Ni3(AACO)4(H2O)4]·4H2O (2), and K2[Cu3(AACO)4(H2O)4]·4H2O (3) complexes, with bridging NO-groups cyanoxime dianions. The development of synthetic approaches towards new coordination polymers has attracted significant interest due to their fascinating physical properties, as well as their use in a wide range of technological, environmental and biomedical applications. Abstract Stereoselective synthesis of enantiomerically pure 2,4-disubstituted piperidine derivatives, which are considered interesting pharmacophoric structures, was achieved starting with a tandem Mannich–Michael reaction sequence on O -pivaloylated N -galactosyl aldimines. Modular Access to 9,9-Spirobifluorenes by Oxidative Coupling Using Molybdenum Pentachloride

The strong oxidizing agent molybdenum pentachloride was used for an efficient direct C–C bond formation of 9,9-diarylfluorenes to the corresponding 9,9-spirobifluorenes. Thus, a versatile method that is compatible with labile groups, such as iodo moieties, was established. By this approach important building blocks for light emitting polymers were synthesized in high yields.
Screening of ligands for the Ullmann synthesis of electron-rich diaryl ethers

In the search for new ligands for the Ullmann diaryl ether synthesis, permitting the coupling of electron-rich aryl bromides at relatively low temperatures, 56 structurally diverse multidentate ligands were screened in a model system that uses copper iodide in acetonitrile with potassium phosphate as the base. The ligands differed largely in their performance, but no privileged structural class could be identified.
Anodic Dehydrogenative Cyanamidation of Thioethers: Simple and Sustainable Synthesis of N‐Cyanosulfilimines

Abstract A novel and very simple to perform electrochemical approach for the synthesis of several N‐cyanosulfilimines in good to excellent yields was established. This method provides access to biologically relevant sulfoximines by consecutive oxidation using electro‐generated periodate. This route can be easily scaled‐up to gram quantities. The S,N coupling is carried out at an inexpensive carbon anode by direct oxidation of sulfide. Therefore, the designed process is atom economic and represents a new “green route” for the synthesis of sulfilimines and sulfoximines.
