Parental influences on the development of single and co-occurring difficulties in reading and arithmetic fluency

This study investigated how single and co-occurring difficulties in reading and arithmetic fluency developed among Finnish children across Grades 1–9 (N = 2151). Latent profile analysis among 391 children who had reading and/or arithmetic fluency difficulties in Grade 9 revealed profiles that followed three distinct patterns: reading difficulties (N = 121), mathematical difficulties (N = 94), and comorbid difficulties (N = 176). This study focuses on parental reading and mathematical difficulties, the home literacy environment, and the home numeracy environment as well as their predictive role in Finnish children’s reading and mathematical development through Grades 1–9. We examined if parental reading and mathematical difficulties directly predict children’s academic performance and/or if they are mediated by the home learning environment. Student–teacher relationships are crucial for adolescents’ adjustment in the school context. The aim of the present study was to examine the role of teacher closeness in academic emotions and achievement among adolescents with and without learning difficulties during the first year in lower secondary school. Students’ learning difficulties (LDs) were identified based on tested reading and math skills. In addition, students evaluated their teacher relationships and rated academic emotions in literacy and math domains. Optometrisko treniņu efektivitāte bērniem ar mācīšanās grūtībām

Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 58 lappusēm. Darbā ir 19 attēls, 13 tabulas un 54 atsauces uz zinātnisko literatūru. Mācīšanās grūtības (LD) ir bieži sastopama problēma skolēniem Eiropas izglītības sistēmā. Vēl joprojām ir maza izpratne par LD un to cēloņsakarībām. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir izveidot pārskatu par problēmu, pamatā koncentrējoties uz attīstības disleksiju (DD), un izpētīt redzes treniņu iespējas, kuras var sniegt optometrists komandā ar citiem profesionāļiem. Motorisen oppimisen vaikeudella, kuten kehityksellisellä koordinaatiohäiriöllä (DCD), tarkoitetaan huomattavaa vaikeutta oppia uusia motorisia taitoja ja soveltaa jo opittuja taitoja uusiin tilanteisiin. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kehittää opettajien käyttöön havainnointityökalu, joka auttaa tunnistamaan motorisen oppimisen vaikeuden esi- ja alkuopetusikäisillä lapsilla. Wykorzystane w niniejszym tekście dane są efektem badań przeprowadzonych w 2013 i 2014 r. Badania pozwoliły na ukazanie indywidualnego rozumienia sytuacji migracji przez jej uczestników. Wypowiedzi bezpośrednich aktorów społecznych, jakimi są migranci, pomogły zilustrować migrację jako socjologiczny fenomen, w którym można zaobserwować aktualnie zachodzące szersze zmiany społeczne.

Lasītprasme ir pamats tam, lai cilvēks varētu iegūt izglītību un vēlāk būt konkurētspējīgs darba tirgū. Lasīšanas grūtības apgrūtina skolēna mācības visās jomās un ir viens no fundamentāliem priekšlaicīgas mācību pārtraukšanas riskiem. Gadījumā, ja skolēns ar lasīšanas grūtībām nesaņem atbalstu un tās netiek risinātas, rodas grūtības vairumā mācību jomu, var rasties mācībām nepiemērota uzvedība un citas problēmas. Our study investigated the associations among two expressions of perceived parental psychological control (dependency-oriented parental control [DPC] and achievement-oriented parental control [APC]), identity, and internalizing difficulties among college-attending emerging adults. In particular, our aim was to examine the potential role of identity in the pathways linking both DPC and APC to internalizing difficulties. In questo articolo vengono analizzate le risposte fornite a un interessante item relativo alla Prova standardizzata di matematica somministrata nel maggio 2015 a tutti gli allievi di quinta elementare del Canton Ticino. A partire dai risultati statistici emersi da un campione di 508 protocolli selezionati, viene presentata un’analisi qualitativa effettuata su un campione più ristretto di 174 studenti di prima media, allo scopo di rintracciare le cause delle difficoltà emerse nella risoluzione. Da questa analisi si rileva come le risposte sbagliate di diversi studenti siano legate a difficoltà nella comprensione del testo dell’item, in particolare a difficoltà di interpretazione linguistica.…

El objetivo del presente estudio consistió en examinar las diferencias en las funciones ejecutivas de inhibición y memoria de trabajo (MT) evaluadas en Educación Infantil entre sujetos con dificultades persistentes en el área de matemáticas en 2º de Educación Primaria y niños con un rendimiento adecuado. La muestra final del estudio estuvo conformada por 180 niños (inicialmente compuesta por 209 preescolares), de los cuales un 6.6% presentaron dificultades matemáticas persistentes (n = 12) y el 45.5% mostraron un rendimiento adecuado en ambas mediciones (n = 82).
