Las políticas públicas simbólicas para el buen gobierno y la calidad democrática en la Comunitat Valenciana
2017
International audience; Aproved the Law 19/2013 about transparency, access to public information and good governance, public sub-state administrations have had to implement a series of public policies to improve aspects such as the quality of democracy, fighting corruption and reliable information, among others. This paper explores and describes the first steps of Generalitat Valenciana for ensuring transparency and good governance in its territory. Especially, it focuses in the study of the Code of Good Governance. For its purpose, we are going to use a Neoinstitutionalist approach; Con la aprobación de la Ley 19/2013, de transparencia, acceso a la información pública y buen gobierno, las A…
Preparation of tungstophosphoric acid/cerium-doped NH2-UiO-66 Z-scheme photocatalyst: a new candidate for green photo-oxidation of dibenzothiophene a…
2021
International audience; The goal of this study was to introduce an effective visible-light induced photocatalytic system with a good ability for photocatalytic oxidative desulfurization (PODS) and denitrogenation (PODN) using molecular oxygen (O2) as an oxidant. In this regard, tungestophosphoric acid (PW12) was supported onto cerium-doped NH2-UiO-66 (PW12/Ce-NUiO-66) and employed for the photo-oxidation of dibenzothiophene (DBT) and quinoline (Qu). Herein, using cerium (Ce) as a “mediator” facilitated the separation of charge carriers, while NH2-UiO-66 remarkably enhanced the surface area with plentiful adsorption sites and shifted the adsorption edge of PW12to the visible region. The sum …
Comparison of the Properties of Activated Carbons Produced in One-Stage and Two-Stage Processes
2018
Activated carbons (ACs) can be produced from biomass in a thermal process either in a direct carbonization-activation process or by first carbonizing the biomass and later activating the bio-chars into activated carbons. The properties of the ACs are dependent on the type of process used for production. In this study, the properties of activated carbons produced in one-stage and two-stage processes are considered. Activated carbons were produced by physical activation of two types of starting materials: bio chars produced from spruce and birch chips in a commercial carbonization plant and from the corresponding raw chips. The activated carbons produced were characterized regarding specific …
Effects of pyrolysis temperature on the hydrologically relevant porosity of willow biochar
2018
Biochar pore space consists of porosity of multiple length scales. In direct water holding applications like water storage for plant water uptake, the main interest is in micrometre-range porosity since these pores are able to store water that is easily available for plants. Gas adsorption measurements which are commonly used to characterize the physical pore structure of biochars are not able to quantify this pore-size range. While pyrogenetic porosity (i.e. pores formed during pyrolysis process) tends to increase with elevated process temperature, it is uncertain whether this change affects the pore space capable to store plant available water. In this study, we characterized biochar poro…
Selective Laser Sintering of Metal-Organic Frameworks: Production of Highly Porous Filters by 3D Printing onto a Polymeric Matrix.
2019
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) have raised a lot of interest, especially as adsorbing materials, because of their unique and well‐defined pore structures. One of the main challenges in the utilization of MOFs is their crystalline and powdery nature, which makes their use inconvenient in practice. Three‐dimensional printing has been suggested as a potential solution to overcome this problem. We used selective laser sintering (SLS) to print highly porous flow‐through filters containing the MOF copper(II) benzene‐1,3,5‐tricarboxylate (HKUST‐1). These filters were printed simply by mixing HKUST‐1 with an easily printable nylon‐12 polymer matrix. By using the SLS, powdery particles were fused t…
Effect of Er3+-doping on 65GeS2-25Ga2S3-10CsCl glass probed by annihilating positrons
2019
Abstract Effect of Er3+-doping resulting in pronounced mid-IR fluorescence functionality was examined first in chalcohalide 65GeS2-25Ga2S3-10CsCl glass using positron annihilation lifetime (PAL) spectroscopy. The detected PAL spectra were reconstructed from unconstrained x2-term analysis employing two-state simple trapping model for one kind of positron trapping free-volume defects, the parameterization being performed at the example of 65GeS2-25Ga2S3-10CsCl glass doped with 0.6 at. % of Er3+. The observed decrease in positron trapping rate was proved to be primary void-evolution process in this Er-activated glass, like in many other chalcogenide glasses affected by rare earth doping. The n…
Sponge‐Like Behaviour in Isoreticular Cu(Gly‐His‐X) Peptide‐Based Porous Materials
2015
We report two isoreticular 3D peptide-based porous frameworks formed by coordination of the tripeptides Gly-L-His-Gly and Gly-L-His-L-Lys to Cu(II) which display sponge-like behaviour. These porous materials undergo structural collapse upon evacuation that can be reversed by exposure to water vapour, which permits recovery of the original open channel structure. This is further confirmed by sorption studies that reveal that both solids exhibit selective sorption of H2 O while CO2 adsorption does not result in recovery of the original structures. We also show how the pendant aliphatic amine chains, present in the framework from the introduction of the lysine amino acid in the peptidic backbo…

Physico-chemical characterisation of a non-conventional food protein source from earthworms and sensory impact in arepas
2009
International audience; This study aimed to characterise a non-conventional protein source: a powder made from earthworms, and to evaluate its potential use as human food. The way it was prepared led to low solubility and wide particle size distribution. Sensory analysis was used to assess the acceptability and the organoleptic properties of maize-based pan-cakes fortified with this novel protein powder. Satisfying products were obtained with a substitution level of 5.5% (w/w) earthworm powder in pan-cakes. GC-MS allowed the identification of more than seventy volatile compounds that may be responsible for the off-odour of the powder. The most abundant chemical groups found in the volatile …
Partial Discharges in HVDC Cables - The Effect of the Temperature Gradient During Load Transients
2021
The paper investigates the role of the space charge accumulation phenomena in the inception of Partial Discharges (PD) in a defect within the bulk of the dielectrics of a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cable. It is widespread accepted that the number of PD occurring in an HVDC cable during its lifetime is largely less than that under AC voltage stress. This is essentially due to higher values of the voltage between the conductor and the screen needed to trigger PD under a steady DC voltage than the same value under AC stress. Nevertheless, due to the dependency of the electrical conductivity of the insulation on the electric field and temperature, PD in HVDC cables is strongly influence…
