Applying the integrated trans-contextual model to mathematics activities in the classroom and homework behavior and attainment
2016
The aim of the present study was to test hypotheses of the trans-contextual model. We predicted relations between perceived autonomy support, autonomous motivation toward mathematics learning activities in an educational context, autonomous motivation toward mathematics homework in an out-of-school context, social-cognitive variables and intentions for future engagement in mathematics homework, and mathematics homework outcomes. Secondary school students completed measures of perceived autonomy support from teachers and autonomous motivation for in-class mathematics activities; measures of autonomous motivation, social-cognitive variables, and intentions for out-of-school mathematics homewo…
Posted work and deterritorialization in the European Union: a study of the German construction and meat industry
2015
Applying Student Development Theories: Enhancing International Student Academic Success and Integration
2019
Student development theories (SDT) focus on the growth and change occurring in students while attending higher education. In this article, we propose that the application of student development theories supports holistic development in international students and helps us understand international students’ academic success and integration. We outline a combination of student development models, derived from SDT, and interact them with concepts from international student mobility and migration (ISM). These models, when applied to student services, may assist higher education institutions (HEIs) in designing student services for international students enhancing academic success and integration.
MSNA dal Sud al Nord Italia. Prassi e modelli di inserimento scolastico-formativo
2020
Unaccompanied foreign pupils constitute a heterogeneous universe which represents a challenge for the governing of educational processes. Hence the choice to offer an insight into the training insertion of MSNA in local contexts, through a survey of the surveys carried out in reality in Northern, Central and Southern Italy.
Reciprocal relations between autonomous motivation from self-determination theory and social cognition constructs from the theory of planned behavior…
2020
Objectives The present study examined reciprocal relations between autonomous motivation from self-determination theory (SDT) and constructs from the theory of planned behavior (TPB) in a sport injury context. Methods The study adopted a three-wave longitudinal cross-lagged panel design. Physical education students in China (N = 4414; Mage = 14.42, SD = 1.75) completed self-report measures of autonomous motivation, attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control with respect to sport injury prevention at baseline (T1) and at two follow-up occasions one (T2) and three (T3) months later. Proposed reciprocal relations between autonomous motivation and the TPB constructs controlling…
Omnichannel experience: Towards successful channel integration in retail
2019
According to Deloitte’s (2018) forecast for 2018 many changes will occur in retail markets. The growth of online retailing is continuing, and it is going to have a great impact on traditional retail players. The number of physical stores will decrease, but they will still have important role in retailing. Customer experiences are now more important than ever, and digital technologies will have a key role to the store experience. Consumers are spending more and more time on smartphones relative to other devices. Typically, they conduct searches on mobile devices and make purchase in physical stores (Singh and Swait, 2017). Today, 8% of time spent online is related to shopping (Mander and Jas…
Brain's capacity to detect abstract regularities from visual stimuli under different attentive conditions- an ERP study
2010
Many previous studies have applied oddball paradigm to study change detection. Although changes within single features have been investigated a lot, the changes in multiple feature conjunctions have not. The aim of our study was to investigate with event-related potentials by applying oddball paradigm, whether the brain can detect abstract regularities in visual stimulus stream when two different features are combined - semantic meaning and color. Participants were shown adjective words written in red and blue print in quasi-random order on a computer screen. In an oddball paradigm, 90 % of the words (‘standard’) followed the rule “words printed in red have a negative meaning and the words …
