The article discusses Francesco Viola’s new book, considered as a philosophy of positive law alternative to legal positivism. The starting point is the classification of his approach as characterized by the thesis of an interpretive connection of law and morals, evident in his itinerary through the three revivals of Natural law in the last century. Conversely, others – Bobbio calls them “law’s creators” – almost neglect the relevance of the border which separates law and legal knowledge. Audiovisual texts possess characteristics that clearly differentiate audiovisual translation from both oral and written translation, and prospective screen translators are usually taught about the issues that typically arise in audiovisual translation. Profiling deaf and hard-of-hearing users of subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing in Italy: a questionnaire-based study

The aim of this article is to present the results of a questionnaire-based study carried out as part of the author’s Master’s Degree dissertation about Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard-of-hearing (SDH). In particular, the need to gather specific information regarding audience design will be highlighted in the paper, since this research field has long been neglected in Italy. The questions were aimed at shedding light on the needs, cultural environment and world-view of Italian SDH users, by eliciting personal data as well as subtitlerelated information.
