High pancuronium sensitivity of axonal nicotinic-acetylcholine receptors in humans during organophosphate intoxication.

1991

The effect of low-dose pancuronium on neuromuscular transmission was studied in 2 patients during the early and late stages of severe organophosphate intoxication. Single evoked compound muscle action potentials (CMAP) were followed by repetitive discharges and a decrement-increment (D-I) phenomenon with 10-, 20-, and 50-Hz supramaximal nerve stimulation. Intravenous pancuronium, 1 mg, abolished the D-I phenomenon, while the repetitive discharges of the CMAP were only partially reduced. It is postulated, that the disappearance of the D-I phenomenon with persistence of the CMAP repetitive discharges results from blockade of nicotinic-acetylcholine receptors located on the terminal axon respo…

The transcription factor Zfh1 is involved in the regulation of neuropeptide expression and growth of larval neuromuscular junctions in Drosophila mel…

2008

AbstractDifferent aspects of neural development are tightly regulated and the underlying mechanisms have to be transcriptionally well controlled. Here we present evidence that the transcription factor Zfh1, the Drosophila member of the conserved zfh1 gene family, is important for different steps of neuronal differentiation. First, we show that late larval expression of the neuropeptide FMRFamide is dependent on correct levels of Zfh1 and that this regulation is presumably direct via a conserved zfh1 homeodomain binding site in the FMRFamide enhancer. Using MARCM analysis we additionally examined the requirement for Zfh1 during embryonic and larval stages of motoneuron development. We could …

Influence Of The Model Parameters On The Noise Performance Of Double-polysilicon BJTs For Microwave LNA's

1997

In the recent post we have measured the noise and the scattering parameters of several series of double polysilicon BJT's over the 2-6 GHz frequency range at different collector current values, according to their emitter finger number. From the experimental data, a noisy circuit model has been extracted based on a T-equivalent network. By means of the correlation matrix techniques, novel analytical expressions of the noise parameters have been derived. As a second step, a sensitivity analysis has been performed for evaluating the influence of each model element on the noise performance. The results show how to improve the characteristics of such devices for a better performance when employe…

Morphological determination of the phototrophic community composition of biological soil crusts in coastal sand dunes in northern Germany

2022

This dataset comprises the microbial community composition of biological soil crusts in north-German sand dunes. For this we obtained enrichment cultures of phototrophic microorganisms, by placing fragments of biocrusts of the same Petri dishes as used for sequencing, in Petri dishes with Bold Basal (1N BBM) agarized medium (Bischoff and Bold 1963). Cultures were grown under standard laboratory conditions: with a 12-hour alteration of light and dark phases and irradiation of 25 μmol photons m-2 s-1 at a temperature 20 ± 5 ºС. Microscopic study of these raw cultures began in the third week of cultivation. Morphological examinations were performed using Olympus BX53 light microscope with Noma…

Single-Event Burnout Mechanisms in SiC Power MOSFETs

2018

Heavy ion-induced single-event burnout (SEB) is investigated in high-voltage silicon carbide power MOSFETs. Experimental data for 1200-V SiC power MOSFETs show a significant decrease in SEB onset voltage for particle linear energy transfers greater than 10 MeV/cm 2 /mg, above which the SEB threshold voltage is nearly constant at half of the rated maximum operating voltage for these devices. TCAD simulations show a parasitic bipolar junction transistor turn-on mechanism, which drives the avalanching of carriers and leads to runaway drain current, resulting in SEB. peerReviewed

Supratransmission-induced traveling breathers in long Josephson junctions

2022

The emergence of travelling sine-Gordon breathers due to the nonlinear supratransmission effect is theoretically studied in a long Josephson junction driven by suitable magnetic pulses, taking into account the presence of dissipation, a current bias, and a thermal noise source. The simulations clearly indicate that, depending on the pulse's shape and the values of the main system parameters, such a configuration can effectively yield breather excitations only. Furthermore, a nonmonotonic behavior of the breather-only generation probability is observed as a function of the noise intensity. Finally, the dynamics of the supratransmission-induced breathers is characterized by looking at quantit…

Efficacy of obidoxime in human organophosphorus poisoning: determination by neuromuscular transmission studies.

1995

Six patients with organophosphorus compound intoxications developed an intermediate syndrome (weakness and fasciculations) and obidoxime was given on eight occasions. The efficacy of the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) reactivator was monitored electrophysiologically by neuromuscular transmission studies using single and repetitive nerve stimulation (20 and 50 Hz) and the activity of the serum (butyryl) cholinesterase (ChE). Dramatic electrophysiologic improvement was seen when obidoxime was given early within 12 h in 3 patients, although evidence of AChE inhibition did not subside completely. When administration of obidoxime was delayed 26 h or more after intoxication on five occasions, electr…

Margetuximab (M) combined with anti-PD-1 (MGA012) or anti-PD-1/LAG-3 (MGD013) +/- chemotherapy (CTX) in first-line therapy of advanced/metastatic HER…

2020

TPS468 Background: Trastuzumab (T), a monoclonal antibody (mAb) targeting HER2, is standard of care palliative 1st-line therapy for advanced HER2+ GEJ/GC patients (pts). M, an Fc-engineered anti-HER2 mAb, targets the same HER2 epitope but with higher affinity for both 158V (high binding) and 158F (low binding) alleles of activating Fc receptor CD16A. M coordinately enhanced both innate and adaptive immunity, including antigen-specific T-cell responses to HER2. PD-1 and LAG-3 are T-cell checkpoint molecules that suppress T-cell function. MGA012 (INCMGA00012) is a humanized, hinge-stabilized, IgG4 κ anti-PD-1 mAb blocking binding of PD-L1 or PD-L2 to PD-1. MGD013 is a humanized Fc-bearing bi…

2009

Purpose To determine in a Phase II trial whether preoperative irinotecan–cisplatin (IC) followed by concurrent IC therapy and radiotherapy (IC/RT) improved outcome in patients with resectable, locally advanced gastric adenocarcinoma (GC) or esophagogastric junction cancer (EGJC). Patients and Methods Patients with resectable Stage II–IV, M0 GC or EGJC made up the study population. The primary endpoint was pathologic complete response (pCR). Two courses of IC (irinotecan, 65mg/m 2 ; cisplatin, 30mg/m 2 on Days 1 and 8 every 21 days) were given. Patients without progression then received IC/RT, consisting of daily radiotherapy (45Gy) with concurrent IC (irinotecan, 65mg/m 2 ; cisplatin, 30mg/…
