Over the last 70 years several cases of in vivo failure of enteric coated (EC) formulations have been reported. The observed failures seem to be due to the slower than expected in vivo performance of EC products. Upon reaching the intestinal lumen, the dosage form is exposed to a bicarbonate buffered environment at much lower interfacial buffering capacity compared to those applied in compendial phosphate buffers. AbstractTwenty-two n-butyltin(IV) and t-butyltin(IV) complexes of ligands containing an –OH (–C@O) group or –OH and –COOHgroups and an aromatic {N} donor atom were prepared by metathetical reactions. On the basis of the FT-IR and Mo¨ssbauer spec-troscopic data, molecular structures were assigned to these compounds. The binding sites of the ligands were identified by means ofFT-IR spectroscopic measurements, and it was found that in most cases the organotin(IV) moiety reacts with the phenolic form ofthese ligands. A tool for the multisensory stylus-based exploration of virtual textures was used to investigate how different feedback modalities (static or dynamically deformed images, vibration, sound) affect exploratory gestures. To this end, we ran an experiment where participants had to steer a path with the stylus through a curved corridor on the surface of a graphic tablet/display, and we measured steering time, dispersion of trajectories, and applied force. The rapid growth of short read datasets poses a new challenge to the mapping of short reads to a reference genome in terms of sensitivity and execution speed. In this work, we present a parallel architecture for short read mapping utilizing field programmable gate array (FPGA)-based hardware. The computation intensive semi-global alignment and the hash table lookup operations are mapped onto an FPGA. The purpose of the present study was to examine the general morbidity and mortality rates in the three Baltic republics — Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania during a decade before the collapse of the Soviet Union. Official statistical data were used to compare morbidity and mortality rates. A method of standardization and life table functions were employed. Soviet morbidity statistics were predominantly descriptive, and based mainly on crude rates registered cases of illness during a year per 100 000 population.
