Towards a learning community: understanding teachers’ mental models to support their professional development and learning

Amidst societal, demographic and educational changes, teachers are expected to engage in professional development and learning (PDL) throughout their careers. This study explores school teachers’ mental models about their work in the framework of Senge’s learning organisation, aiming to support their PDL during curriculum reform and organisational changes. Tässä tutkimuksessa analysoitiin kahden yliopiston luokanopettajakoulutuksen opetussuunnitelmatekstejä selvittäen, miten tekstien sisältämät tavoitteet ilmentävät opettajan työssä olennaisia osaamisalueita. Analyysi toteutettiin teoriaohiaavalla sisällönanalyysillä, joka nojasi kehittämäämme Moniulotteiseen opettajan osaamisen prosessimalliin (MAP). Tulokset osoittivat, että pääosa yleisistä ja opintojaksokohtaisista osaamistavoitteista liittyi opettamisen ja oppimisen tietoperustan rakentamiseen, erityisesti sisältötietoon ia pedagogiseen sisältötietoon. Kształcenie inkluzyjne, obok integracyjnego i specjalnego (segregacyjnego), jest jedną z form kształcenia uczniów ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi (SPE) w Polsce. Zakłada ono edukację uczniów z różnymi cechami, np. z niepełnosprawnością w szkołach ogólnodostępnych. Constructing a pedagogical practice across disciplines in pre-service teacher education

In this paper we report a qualitative case study of a teaching intervention in which a pre-service subject teacher pair planned and conducted a course integrating Finnish language and ethics in a multilingual setting. Audio-recorded planning sessions and interviews including learning diaries were analysed using qualitative content analysis to identify the dynamics of collaborative cross-curricular pedagogical practice development and pedagogical language knowledge. A Longitudinal Study of the Effects of Service-Learning on Physical Education Teacher Education Students

Research examining Service-Learning (SL) in Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) is ample. However, long-term investigations are still scarce and literature demands the application of this type of design to uncover the effects of SL on the long run. This study followed a longitudinal quantitative approach; thus, the participants completed the Civic Attitudes and Skills Questionnaire (CASQ) in three occasions (pretest-postest1-postest2).
