Idea samorządności w Polsce - próba aksjologicznej systematyzacji w ujęciu politologicznym

2014

PROCESSO CONSERVATIVO E SIGNIFICATIVITà UN APPROCCIO METODOLOGICO PER LA PROGETTAZIONE DEI SISTEMI DI PROTEZIONE NEI SITI ARCHEOLOGICI/CONSERVATION P…

2018

2016

The paper attempte to present issues coming from the raanagement and personality psychology, including their implications for company management practices and for their impact on spocialists well-being and a ąuality of life. The research, based on Ryan and Deci concept, cuncerns the psychological needs, adaptation (Rotter) and hierarchical valucs (Rokeach) of spocialists. It was assumed that the sense of the quality of life would reveal asignificant relationahip with personality-relatcd and axiological dimensions among spocialists. It was hypothesized that a positive correlation between independent porsonolity-related variables distinguished in the personality and axiologica) MOA model for …

TECHNOLOGICAL DESIGN. THE INNOVATION IN THE METHOD

2018

The book presents reflections on the centrality of Design in the discipline of Technology of Architecture and on the need to adapt the design method to the innovation of thought implemented by the research world. The theme of the Innovation in the Method of Technological Design is an interesting challenge that in this volume has been addressed considering the complexity of the levels of thematic depth, opening up to critical reflections, proposals for tools and illustration of case studies that show the breadth, relevance and multidimensionality of this issue. The era of digital and information technology have significantly influenced the way of doing and thinking in architecture and this e…

Jet fragmentation transverse momentum distributions in pp and p-Pb collisions at √s, √sNN = 5.02 TeV

2021

Jet fragmentation transverse momentum (jT) distributions are measured in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. Jets are reconstructed with the ALICE tracking detectors and electromagnetic calorimeter using the anti-kT algorithm with resolution parameter R = 0.4 in the pseudorapidity range |η| < 0.25. The jT values are calculated for charged particles inside a fixed cone with a radius R = 0.4 around the reconstructed jet axis. The measured jT distributions are compared with a variety of parton-shower models. Herwig and Pythia 8 based models describe the data well for the higher jT region, while they underestimate the low…

related to the perturbative component of the fragmentation processthe measured trends are successfully described by all models except for Herwig. For the wide componentHerwig and PYTHIA 8 based models slightly underestimate the data for the higher jet transverse momentum region. These measurements set constraints on models of jet fragmentation and hadronisation.Nuclear and High Energy Physicswhile that of the inverse gamma function increases with increasing jet transverse momentum. For the narrow componentHeavy Ion Experimentsand with a Gaussian for lower jT values (called the “narrow component”)hiukkasfysiikkawhile they underestimate the lower jT region. The jT distributions are further characterised by fitting them with a function composed of an inverse gamma function for higher jT values (called the “wide component”)predominantly connected to the hadronisation process. The width of the Gaussian has only a weak dependence on jet transverse momentumJet fragmentation transverse momentum (jT) distributions are measured in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. Synthesis and biological evaluation of novel peptidomimetics as rhodesain inhibitors

2016

Novel rhodesain inhibitors were developed by combining an enantiomerically pure 3-bromoisoxazoline warhead with a 1,4-benzodiazepine scaffold as specific recognition moiety. All compounds were proven to inhibit rhodesain with Ki values in the low-micromolar range. Their activity towards rhodesain was found to be coupled to an in vitro antitrypanosomal activity, with IC50 values ranging from the mid-micromolar to a low-micromolar value for the most active rhodesain inhibitor (R,S,S)-3. All compounds showed a good selectivity against the target enzyme since all of them were proven to be poor inhibitors of human cathepsin L. Novel rhodesain inhibitors were developed by combining an enantiomeri…

Casual, Colloquial, Commonsensical: A News Values Stylistic Analysis of a Populist Newsfeed

2021

This study explores a mediated variety of right-wing populist discourse in the digital context, given the populists’ inclination to bypass legacy media to connect directly to the citizens to garner political support. It analyzes a sample of the Tea Party’s newsfeed headlines posted in the spring of 2019. A corpus of 308 headlines collected according to a “constructed week” formula has been coded first according to selected news values parameters (Bednarek and Caple 2017), and then with respect to stylistic devices operationalized in terms of “casual,” “colloquial” and “commonsensical” expressions. Methodologically, the study aims to combine the perspectives of newsworthiness and stylistics …

Constructing a “breakthrough”: News values in Science Magazine's 2017 ranking of most important discoveries

2018

The objective of this study is to conduct a stylistic analysis of the synopses publicized in the end-of-the-year ranking list of 2017 scientific “breakthroughs” from Science Magazine. The article provides a review of literature on science popularization (also known as science accommodation) and presents the typology of news values and rationalization cues that are used by editors to make science-related coverage both newsworthy and credible at the same time. The article lists the possible ways in which scientific findings can be stylistically constructed as “breakthroughs”. The analysis consists in quantifying and illustrating the typical stylistic maneuvers for framing selected science-rel…

Inny/obcy: doświadczenie języka i rzeczywistości (literacko-kulturowa ponowoczesność)

2017

The subject matter is developed around the Other, their presence and their personalising in the literary-cultural space. The reality becomes the source of observation (fiction and non-fiction) and reveals not only a variety of human experience in the world of multiculturalism, but also forms of “branding” the Other (rhetoric of the dominant communities towards cultural minorities) which correspond to them. The analysis of the rhetoric of speech and image permits to reveal the good and the bad side of language-cultural stereotypes, including also attitudes and behaviours affected by ideology.
