Exosomes are lipoproteic nanosize vesicles of endocytic origin that are released in the extracellular space by several cell types when a multivesicular body fuses with the plasma membrane (1). To date, accumulating evidences highlight the potential of exosomes as messenger in intercellular communication. Indeed, several studies reported the presence of lipids, proteins, metabolites and nucleic acid (DNA, mRNA, microRNA, lncRNA) in exosomes and highlight their functional role in physiological and pathological processes (2).

Beim kleinen Rotbarsch (Sebastus viviparus) wurden Lipidgehalt und Fettsaurezusammensetzung von 11 Geweben untersucht. Den grosten Fettgehalt haben Fettgewebe, Zentralnervensystem und Leber. Die Leber wies den hochsten Polyenfettsaurengehalt auf. Sie enthalt 23,7 % Docosahexaensaure und 18,8 % Docosapentaensaure. In Herz, Niere, ZNS und Testes sind zwischen 9,0 und 5,7 % Docosahexaensaure enthalten. Den hochsten Gehalt an Eicosapentaensaure besasen ZNS, Myokard, Testes, Milz, Niere und rote Muskulatur (16,7-11,2%). Weise Muskulatur, Fettgewebe und Leber enthielten nur 9,2-7,5 % Eicosapentaensaure. C20- und C22-Tetraensauren konnten vor allem im Fettgewebe, in der Muskulatur und in der Leber…

In this study we examined the effects of red blood cells on smooth muscle cell mineralization and vascular calcification and the possible mechanisms involved. To provide further insights into the impulse propagation between cardiac myocytes, we performed multiparametric studies of excitation spread with cellular resolution in confluent monolayers of cultured cardiomyocytes (CM). Simultaneous paired intracellular recordings of action potentials in two individual CM revealed slight periodic spontaneous advances/delays in the interspike time lag. Exercise is thought to increase the diameter of the conduit arteries supplying the muscles involved. We studied the effects of a physically active vs inactive lifestyle on artery diameters in monozygotic (MZ) twin pairs discordant over 30 years for leisure-time physical activity habits. In a population-based co-twin control study design, six middle-aged (50-65 years) same-sex MZ twin pairs with long-term discordance for physical activity were comprehensively identified from the Finnish Twin Cohort (TWINACTIVE study). Preeclampsia, which complicates 3-8% of pregnancies, is one of the leading causes of neonatal morbidity and mortality. Its pathophysiology remains unclear. The aim of the present study was to investigate the presence and the role of beta2- and beta2-adrenergic receptors (ADRB2 and ADRB3, respectively) in human placental arteries and to assess the influence of preeclampsia on ADRB responsiveness. SR 59119A, salbutamol, and isoproterenol (ADRB3, ADRB2, and nonselective ADRB agonists, respectively) induced a concentration-dependent relaxation of placental artery rings obtained from women with uncomplicated or preeclamptic pregnancies.
