The Fear of Covid-19 Scale (FCV-19S) in Spain: Adaptation and Confirmatory Evidence of Construct and Concurrent Validity

Fear of the coronavirus has important implications on mental health. In western countries, a significant degree of vaccination has been achieved, but in Spain, less than 75% of the population has received both doses. The current situation is still seen as a threat by many people. Therefore, it is important to have reliable and valid measurement instruments to assess the impact of COVID-19 on the population. In this study, the Fear of COVID-19 Scale has been adapted to Spain, and its psychometric properties have been studied in a Spanish sample using Structural Equation Modeling. Punishment and violence in the history of education have been covered in numerous scholarly works, but most of them have relied heavily on what might be considered normative sources such as regulations, legislation, other studies in the history of education, various instructions, manuals, and guidebooks. This paper studies the Encounter of Knowledge as a project that, by welcoming mestres and mestras of ancestral knowledge into universities, contributes to decolonize higher education, broadening its field of memory. Il ruolo della comprensione del testo nel processo di matematizzazione e modellizzazione

In questo articolo vengono analizzate le risposte fornite a un interessante item relativo alla Prova standardizzata di matematica somministrata nel maggio 2015 a tutti gli allievi di quinta elementare del Canton Ticino. A partire dai risultati statistici emersi da un campione di 508 protocolli selezionati, viene presentata un’analisi qualitativa effettuata su un campione più ristretto di 174 studenti di prima media, allo scopo di rintracciare le cause delle difficoltà emerse nella risoluzione. Da questa analisi si rileva come le risposte sbagliate di diversi studenti siano legate a difficoltà nella comprensione del testo dell’item, in particolare a difficoltà di interpretazione linguistica.…

Albanian students’ motives for preferring certain real-life situations for learning mathematics

This article reports on a qualitative investigation of Albanian students’ motives for preferring certain real-life situations to be used in school mathematics, and possible connections of these motives to characteristics and issues within Albanian society. It is based on realistic interviews with students from Grades 8 and 9 in a school in the district of Shkodra in northern Albania. The red ear syndrome and migraine: the role of the parasympathetic system in a complex and intriguing clinical association

Background and aims: The red ear syndrome (RES) is a rare syndrome characterized by burning pain and cutaneous erythema in the ear. It is probably due to an autonomic dysfunction, because of a hypofunction of sympathetic and/or a hyperactivity of parasympathetic control. We have previously described an intriguing association with migraine. In the present study, we have investigated the pathophysiological links between the RES and the clinical features of migraine, and pointed out the crucial role of the parasympathetic system.
