Cytochrome-P450 phosphorylation as a functional switch

Xenobiotic metabolizing cytochromes P450 (CYP) were shown to be phosphorylated in vitro (using purified protein kinases together with purified CYPs), in intact cells (in V79 cells after transfection of cDNAs coding for individual CYPs, in diagnostic mutants, in hepatocytes), and in whole organisms (rats). CYP phosphorylation is highly isoenzyme selective in that only some CYPs are phosphorylated. Protein kinase A (PKA) was identified as a major catalyst for the phosphorylation of CYPs. The PKA recognition motif Arg-Arg-X-Ser is present in several members of the CYP2 family, but is used by only some of them, most notably by CYP2B1/2B2 and CYP2E1. Multi-parameter analysis of the obstacle scattering problem

Abstract We consider the acoustic field scattered by a bounded impenetrable obstacle and we study its dependence upon a certain set of parameters. As usual, the problem is modeled by an exterior Dirichlet problem for the Helmholtz equation Δu + k 2 u = 0. We show that the solution u and its far field pattern u ∞ depend real analytically on the shape of the obstacle, the wave number k, and the Dirichlet datum. We also prove a similar result for the corresponding Dirichlet-to-Neumann map.
Estudio de interacciones farmacocinéticas del efavirenz con fármacos metabolizados por el CYP450: sertralina, nortriptilina y rifampicina.

En este trabajo se han estudiado las interacciones farmacocinéticas del efavirenz (EFV) con tres fármacos metabolizados por el citocromo P450 (sertralina (SRT), nortriptilina (NT) y rifampicina (RFP)), utilizando la rata como animal de experimentación. El EFV se administró por vía intraduodenal (dosis = 10 mg) y los otros fármacos se administraron por vía intraduodenal (SRT y NT) o por vía oral (RFP). La coadministración de EFV y SRT (dosis de 5 mg y 10 mg) dio lugar a niveles plasmáticos de EFV mayores que los obtenidos en el grupo de control (animales administrados solo con EFV). The purpose of this article is to focus on the motif of the countryside in Roman satire. In particular, it aspires to study the way the Sabine farm is delineated in Horace's Satire 2.6 and later in his Epistles, in order to elucidate the evolution of this motif in Persius? 6th Satire. In this poem, Persius addresses Caesius Bassus, who retreats to Sabine to seek poetic inspiration, but seems trapped in the paths of earlier poetry and cannot attain bliss, while the poet achieves it in the port of Luna.
