A Numerical Approach to the Keel Design of a Sailing Yacht

This paper describes an approach to the keel design of a sailing yacht. The related software, which is fully automatic, permits to obtain an optimal shape by modifying the surface used to define the keel planform. B-spline curves and surfaces have been used because of their ability in following complex shapes. The algorithm integrates ad hoc implemented original software with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) commercial ones. The optimisation procedure makes use of Genetic Algorithms (GAs) and a gradient – based optimiser for the refinement of the solution. The Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) on board the MetOp satellite series provides important measurements for Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP). Retrieving accurate atmospheric parameters from the raw data provided by IASI is a large challenge, but necessary in order to use the data in NWP models. Statistical models performance is compromised because of the extremely high spectral dimensionality and the high number of variables to be predicted simultaneously across the atmospheric column. Grazie all'analisi del rapporto tra il testo delle descrizioni di Filostrato e quello di Seneca tragico, Ovidio e Stazio si ipotizza la presenza nelle Imagines di allusioni ad opere ellenistiche perdute (si fa riferimento a Callimaco e Nicandro) . Inoltre, sulla base di un parallelismo tra II 4 (Ippolito) e un verso delle Rane di Aristofane si rintraccia una citazione dell'Ippolito Velato euripideo. Mikäli lajit kilpailevat samoista resursseista, runsaat kuhaistutukset tai kuhan luonnollinen yleistyminen voivat vaikuttaa negatiivisesti hauen menestykseen. Identification of subdominant sourdough lactic acid bacteria and their evolution during laboratory-scale fermentations

Abstract Presumptive lactic acid bacterial cocci were found in six sourdoughs (out of 20) from the Abruzzo region (central Italy) and subjected to phenotypic and genotypic characterization. A total of 21 isolates, recognized as seven strains by randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD)–polymerase chain reaction (PCR) typing, were identified by a polyphasic approach, consisting of 16S rRNA gene sequencing, multiplex PCR assays and physiological features, as Enterococcus faecium and Pediococcus pentosaceus. Presento tambien una dacriocistitis izquierda que requirio una dacriocistorrinostomia. Se tomaron muestras intraoperatorias y en el cultivo aparecio Candida Lusitaniae como germen responsable. Tras tratamiento topico con Anfotericina B, asociado a dacriocistorrinostomia, la clinica desaparecio. Discusion: La dacriocistitis por Candida Lusitaniae es muy rara.
