2005
This paper examines the amendments made to the Italian regulation of indi…
An exploratory study of the implications of free admission to museums and monuments : perceptions and effects on visiting behaviors.
2007
International audience; What perceptions of free admission to museums and monuments do French visiting and non-visiting audiences have ? What are the consequences of such perceptions on individuals' perceptions, visit-planning and behavior patterns in museums and monuments ? Research conducted between 2002 and 2003 tried to answer these questions by multiangulation applied to data production and analysis. Results show that free admission alter the perceptions of museums and monuments, it is secondary in planning and implementation of visit-planning, and finally it can spark a learning process from the visit that results in the appropriation of a free admission scheme. Conclusions are relate…

Adverse Clinical Events and Mortality During Hospitalization and 3 Months After Discharge in Cognitively Impaired Elderly Patients
2012
BACKGROUND: Controversial findings are reported on hospital outcome in cognitively impaired patients. The aim of this study was to explore mortality risk according to cognitive status during hospitalization and after 3 months in elderly patients. METHODS: Sixty-six internal medicine and geriatric wards in Italy participated in the "Registry Politerapie SIMI (REPOSI)" during 2010. Of the 1,380 in-patients, aged 65 and older enrolled, 1,201 were included. Cognition was evaluated with the Short Blessed Test (SBT). Logistic regression was used to evaluate the association of questionable and impaired cognition (according to SBT cutoff points) with mortality during hospitalization and at follow-u…
Care Dependency in Patients with Heart Failure: A Cross-Sectional Study in Spain.
2020
Background: Heart failure (HF) is a progressive and debilitating condition that represents an ever-growing problem for health systems worldwide. HF patients feel that they are a burden on their families, they feel socially isolated and have a low perception of their health. Accordingly, the objectives of this study were to: (1) to explore the profile of care dependency in a representative sample of Spanish HF patients through the Care Dependency Scale (CDS), and (2) to identify correlates of care dependency in this population. Material and Methods: We performed a cross-sectional study of 187 patients admitted for HF decompensation to the Hospital Clínico of Zaragoza (Spain). Results: Only 1…

182 Does emergency physician prehospital management improve outcome of severe blunt trauma?
2010
Severe blunt traumas are a leading cause of premature death and handicap. The benefit for the patient of pre-hospital management by emergency physicians remains under debate because of possible delayed hospital admission. This study aimed at comparing the impact of basic life support (BLS) performed by fire brigades with advanced life support (ALS) performed by SMUR (Service Mobile d9Urgences et de Reanimation) physicians, on 30-day mortality. The FIRST study (French Intensive Care Recorded Severe Trauma) is a French observational multicentric study designed in order to describe the modalities of severe blunt trauma management. The study population was composed of trauma patients over 18 ye…
