Anti-tumor activity of two binuclear gold(I) complexes with bridging dithiolate ligands

1986

Abstract Two new binuclear complexes of gold with bridging dithiolate ligands were synthesized and characterized: (o3PAu)2(μ-DTE) and (Et3PAu)2(μ-DMTA); H2DTE=dithioerylthritol and H2DMTA=2,5-dimer- capto-1-thia-3,4-diazole. These compounds and three gold compounds with antiarthritic activity (gold sodium thiomalate, gold thioglucose and Et3PAuCl) were tested for antitumor activity using the Ehrlich- Ascites tumor cell in mice. Only (o3PAu)e(μ-DTE) showed significant activity.

2009

Polyanion [{Ce(H(2)O)(2)}(2)Mn(2)(B-alpha-GeW(9)O(34))(2)](8-) (1) constitutes the first example of a heterometallic 3d-4f cluster related to the Weakley-type dimeric structure, and it contains an unprecedented Ce(III)(2)Mn(III)(2)O(20) rhomblike moiety displaying dominant Ce(III)-Mn(III) ferromagnetic interactions.

Cyano-bridged structures based on [MnIIN3O2-macrocycle)]2+: a synthetic, structural, and magnetic study.

2005

Reactions between the complex [MnII(L)]2+, where L is a N3O2 macrocyclic ligand, and different cyanometalate precursors such as [M(CN)n]m- (M(III) = Cr, Fe; M(II) = Fe, Ni, Pd, Pt) lead to cyano-bridged molecular assemblies exhibiting a variety of structural topologies. The reaction between [MnII(L)]2+ and [FeII(CN)6]4- forms a trinuclear complex with formula [(MnII(L)(H2O))2(FeII(micro-CN)2(CN)4)] x 2MeOH x 10H2O (1) which crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1. The reaction between [MnII(L)]2+ and [M(II)(CN)4]2-, where M(II) = Ni (2), Pd (3), Pt (4), gives rise to three isostructural linear chain compounds with stoichiometry [(MnII(L))(M(II)(micro-CN)2(CN)2)]n and which crystallize …

Ferromagnetic coupling and spin canting behaviour in heterobimetallic ReIVMII/III(M = CoII/III, NiII) species

2012

Three novel heterobimetallic Re(IV) compounds of formulae [ReBr(4)(μ-ox)M(4,7-Cl(2)phen)(2)]·CH(3)CN·CH(3)NO(2) [M = Co(II) (1) and Ni(II) (2)] and [ReBr(4)(ox)](3)[Co(III)(5,6-dmphen)(3)](2)·CH(3)CN·2CH(3)NO(2)·4H(2)O (3) [ox = oxalate, 4,7-Cl(2)phen = 4,7-dichloro-1,10-phenanthroline and 5,6-dmphen = 5,6-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline] have been synthesised and the structures of 1 and 3 determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 is an oxalato-bridged Re(IV)Co(II) heterodinuclear complex where the [ReBr(4)(ox)](2-) unit acts as a bidentate ligand towards the [Co(4,7-Cl(2)phen)(2)](2+) entity, the separation between Re(IV) and Co(II) across the oxalate being 5.482(1) Å. Multifunctional magnetic materials obtained by insertion of spin-crossover Fe(III) complexes into chiral 3D bimetallic oxalate-based ferromagnets.

2011

The syntheses, structures, and magnetic properties of compounds of formula [Fe(III)(5-Clsal(2)-trien)][Mn(II)Cr(III)(ox)(3)]·0.5(CH(3)NO(2)) (1), [Fe(III)(5-Brsal(2)-trien)][Mn(II)Cr(III)(ox)(3)] (2), and [In(III)(5-Clsal(2)-trien)][Mn(II)Cr(III)(ox)(3)] (3) are reported. The structure of the three compounds, which crystallize in the orthorhombic P2(1)2(1)2(1) chiral space group, presents a 3D chiral anionic network formed by Mn(II) and Cr(III) ions linked through oxalate ligands with inserted [Fe(III)(5-Clsal(2)-trien)](+), [Fe(III)(5-Brsal(2)-trien)](+), and [In(III)(5-Clsal(2)-trien)](+) cations. The magnetic properties indicate that the three compounds undergo long-range ferromagnetic o…

2005

The salt [K(18-crown-6)][Mn(H2O)2Cr(ox)3]·0.5(18-crown-6) (1) has been prepared and structurally and magnetically characterized. It crystallizes in the P21/c space group [a = 21.011(2) A, b = 11.265(2) A, c = 15.748(3) A, β = 105.952(6)°, V = 3584(1) A3, and Z = 4] and contains [Mn(H2O)2Cr(ox)3]∞ chains connected through hydrogen bonding to form 2D anionic networks. The magnetic exchange is ferromagnetic [J = +2.23(2) cm-1] in the chain and also in between chains, reaching bulk ferromagnetic ordering below 3.5 K.

Heteropolyacid‐Based Materials as Heterogeneous Photocatalysts

2013

Heteropolyacids (HPAs) that are often used as heteropolyanions are cheap and stable compounds that have been extensively used as acid and oxidation catalysts as a result of their strong Brønsted acidity and ability to undergo multielectron-transfer reactions. HPAs, which are very soluble in water and polar solvents, have been also used as homogeneous photocatalysts for the oxidation of organic substrates in the presence of oxygen, but their use in heterogeneous systems is by far desirable. Dispersing HPAs onto solid supports with high surface area is useful to increase their specific surface area and hence (photo)catalytic activity. Moreover, owing to the high energy gap between the HOMO an…

Construction of a General Library for the Rational Design of Nanomagnets and Spin Qubits Based on Mononuclear f-Block Complexes. The Polyoxometalate …

2014

This paper belongs to a series of contributions aiming at establishing a general library that helps in the description of the crystal field (CF) effect of any ligand on the splitting of the J ground states of mononuclear f-element complexes. Here, the effective parameters associated with the oxo ligands (effective charges and metal-ligand distances) are extracted from the study of the magnetic properties of the first two families of single-ion magnets based on lanthanoid polyoxometalates (POMs), formulated as [Ln(W5O18)2](9-) and [Ln(β2-SiW11O39)2](13-) (Ln = Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb). This effective CF approach provides a good description of the lowest-lying magnetic levels and the associate…
