2000
Abstract The hydroxo-complexes [{Pd(μ-OH)(NN)}2][ClO4]2 (NN=bpzm:bis(pyrazol-1-yl) methane: a-compounds, bpzm*:bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)methane; b-compounds) react with a wide variety of weak protic electrophiles H(LL) in a 1:2 molar ratio to give the mononuclear cationic palladium(II) derivatives of general formula [Pd(LL)(NN)][ClO4] [LL=2-pyridine-methoxo (OCH2-py) (1a,b); picolinate (pic) (2a,b); 8-hydroxiquinolinate (oxin) (3a,b)] or the dinuclear complexes [{Pd(NN)}2(μ-ox)][ClO4]2 [ox=oxalate: (4a,b)] and [{Pd(μ-LL)(NN)}2][ClO4]2 [LL=pyrazolate (pz) (5a,b); p-thiocresolate (SC6H4Me-p) (6a,b); triazolate (tz) (7b); thiophenolate (SPh) (8b)] when reacting with oxalic acid, azole…
Uptake and retention of calcium, iron, and zinc from raw legumes and the effect of cooking on lentils in Caco-2 cells
2006
Abstract This study examined calcium, iron, and zinc uptake in Caco-2 cells (retention plus transport) from white beans, chickpeas, and lentils subjected to prior in vitro gastrointestinal digestion and the effect of cooking (traditional and industrial—ready to eat) on the uptake of these minerals from lentils. The highest cell uptake of calcium, iron, and zinc corresponded to raw chickpeas, which had the lowest soluble oxalate content and intermediate phenolic and tannin contents. From these results, raw chickpeas would be the best dietary source of calcium, iron, and zinc, although consumption in this form (ie, raw) is low. Cooking affects the calcium, iron, and zinc contents of lentils a…

2010
The syntheses, structures and magnetic properties of the compounds of formula [Fe(III)(sal(2)-trien)][Mn(II)Cr(III)(ox)(3)].CH(2)Cl(2) (1; H(2)sal(2)-trien=N,N'-disalicylidenetriethylenetetramine, ox=oxalate), [Fe(III)(sal(2)-trien)][Mn(II)Cr(III)(ox)(3)].CH(3)OH (2), [In(III)(sal(2)-trien)][Mn(II)Cr(III)(ox)(3)].0.25H(2)O.0.25CH(3)OH.0.25CH(3)CN (3), and [In(III)(sal(2)-trien)][Mn(II)Cr(III)(ox)(3)].CH(3)NO(2).0.5H(2)O (4) are reported. The structure of 1 presents a 2D honeycomb anionic layer formed by Mn(II) and Cr(III) ions linked through oxalate ligands and a cationic layer of [Fe(sal(2)-trien)](+) complexes intercalated between the 2D oxalate network. The structures of 2, 3, and 4 pres…
Polymer supported synthesis of mixed ligand complexes
2003
A series of novel polymer-supported mixed ligand complexes were synthesized and studied. Two percent divinyl benzene (DVB)-crosslinked polystyrene supports were synthesized by the suspension copolymerization technique. An ethylene diamine group was anchored onto the support and the corresponding copper complexes were prepared. The ligating functions like phthalate, acetate, and oxalate groups were introduced, and mixed ligands complexes were synthesized. The resultant polymer supported mixed ligand complexes were characterized by UV-Vis, IR, and EPR methods. The stability constants dictate the formation of these complexes on polymer support. Spectral results gave information about the struc…
Allylammonium hydrogen oxalate hemihydrate
2014
In the title hydrated molecular salt, C3H8N+·C2HO4−·0.5H2O, the water O atom lies on a crystallographic twofold axis. The C=C—C—N torsion angle in the cation is 2.8 (3)° and the dihedral angle between the CO2and CO2H planes in the anion is 1.0 (4)°. In the crystal, the hydrogen oxalate ions are linked by O—H...O hydrogen bonds, generating [010] chains. The allylammonium cations bond to the chains through N—H...O and N—H...(O,O) hydrogen bonds. The water molecule accepts two N—H...O hydrogen bonds and makes two O—H...O hydrogen bonds. Together, the hydrogen bonds generate (100) sheets.
Charge Transfer Salts Based on Polyoxometalates and Seleno-Substituted Organic Donors. Synthesis, Structure, and Magnetic Properties of (BEST)3H[PMo1…
1998
Electrochemical oxidation of the tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) type organic donor bis(ethylenediseleno)tetrathiafulvalene (BEST) in the presence of the Keggin polyoxometalate [PMo12O40]3- affords the radical salt formulated as (BEST)3H[PMo12O40] (crystal data: triclinic, space group P1 with a = 13.056(1) A, b = 13.957(1) A, c = 22.302(3) A, α = 97.019(9)°, β = 94.17(1)°, γ = 95.847(9)°, and Z = 2). This is the first salt of a selenium-containing donor with a polyoxometalate cluster. The structure of this organic/inorganic hybrid consists of layers of the organic donors that alternate with polyoxometalate layers in the c direction. The organic molecules, which are completely ionized, form two ty…
Synthesis and Characterization of a Soluble Bimetallic Oxalate-Based Bidimensional Magnet: [K(18-crown-6)]3[Mn3(H2O)4{Cr(ox)3}3]
2006
The "templating" K crown ether cation allows for the preparation of soluble layered oxalate-based bimetallic magnets, as in [K(18-crown-6]3{Mn3(H2O)4[Cr(ox)3]3}, with an unprecedented bidimensional polymeric anionic network that involves both oxalato bridges and H bonds. As in other 2D oxalate-bridged compounds, the compound behaves as a soft ferromagnet, with the onset of magnetic ordering occurring at 3.3 K.
A High‐Capacity Negative Electrode for Asymmetric Supercapacitors Based on a PMo 12 Coordination Polymer with Novel Water‐Assisted Proton Channels
2020
The development of a negative electrode for supercapacitors is a critical challenge for the next-generation of energy-storage devices. Herein, two new electrodes formed by the coordination polymers [Ni(itmb)4 (HPMo12 O40 )]·2H2 O (1) and [Zn(itmb)3 (H2 O)(HPMo12 O40 )]·4H2 O (2) (itmb = 1-(imidazo-1-ly)-4-(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene), synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method, are described. Compounds 1 and 2 show high capacitances of 477.9 and 890.2 F g-1 , respectively. An asymmetric supercapacitor device assembled using 2 which has novel water-assisted proton channels as negative electrode and active carbon as positive electrode shows ultrahigh energy density and power density of…
Ontogenetic variations of some enzymes indicentrarchus labrax(Serranidae)
1989
Abstract The ontogenesis of isozyme patterns of alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), glycerol‐3‐phosphate dehydrogenase (α‐GPDH), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), malate dehydrogenase (MDH), glucose‐6‐phosphate dehydrogenase (G‐6‐PD) and glucosephosphate isomer‐ase (GPI) in Dicentrarchus labrax was studied. ADH is active only in the liver of the adult; a‐GPDH is active in only two tissues in the adult: the A2 isozyme in white skeletal muscle and the B2 isozyme in the liver. Differential gene expression was found only for LDH, MDH and GPI, which have polymeric structure. The LDH, MDH and GPI isozymes 30 days after hatching were completely active and showed patterns very similar to those of the adult. Sp…
Über den Abbau von L-Äpfelsäure durch Hefen verschiedener Gattungen mit Malatenzym
1974
Summary (1) The aerobic assimilation of malic acid is not a character of certain yeast genera or species as was shown by testing more than 300 different strains. Single strains of the following-species were found to grow on malic acid as the only carbon source: Candida pulcherrima, C. utilis, C. mycoderma, Torulopsis famata, Pichia membranaefaciens, P. wickerhamii, Hansenula capsulata, Trigonopsis variabilis , and Zygosaccharomyces chevalieri . (2) During fermentation C. pulcherrima and T. famata decompose up to 40% and C. utilis up to 80% of the L-malic acid that is present in the medium. (3) L-Malic acid is decomposed to CO 2 and the corresponding amounts of ethanol or pyruvate by cell fr…
