A new electrophilic addition to acetylenes. Synthesis of 1,2-iodofunctionalized olefins

1986

Abstract Acetylenes react with bis(pyridine)iodo(I) tetrafluoroborate ( 1 ) in the presence of a wide variety of nucleophiles (F, Cl, Br, I, SCN, pyridine, OAc, anisole, H) to give 1,2-iodofunctionalized olefins ( 4 ).

A new and versatile method for iodofunctionalization of 1,3-dienes

1986

Abstract We wish to report the reactions of conjugated dienes with I(py) 2 BF 4 . This simple and general method allows the regiospecific 1,2-addition of iodine and a nucleophile to terminal dienes and the 1,4-addition to internal dienes.

Determination of aliphatic amines in water by liquid chromatography using solid-phase extraction cartridges for preconcentration and derivatization

2001

Bond Elut C18 solid-phase extraction cartridges were used for preconcentration and pre-column derivatization with 3,5-dinitrobenzoyl chloride (DNB) of aliphatic amines in water. Conditions for analyte preconcentration and derivatization (including the volume of sample, concentration of reagent, time of reaction and pH) were investigated, using ethylamine, isopropylamine and dimethylamine as model compounds. On the basis of these studies, a rapid and sensitive method for the determination of aliphatic amines in water is presented. The analytes are retained and purified on the cartridges and then derivatized and desorbed by drawing in succession the DNB solution and acetonitrile. The collecte…

Polyfunctional recognition of pyridinedicarboxylate anions with macrocyclic polyamine receptors containing heteroaromatic groups.

2008

The interaction of the biologically relevant anions deriving from the six pyridinedicarboxylic acids (H2PDC) with two macrocyclic receptors containing a pentamine chain and a bipyridine (1) or a phenanthroline (2) moiety, as well as with the aliphatic analogue [21]aneN7 (3), was studied by means of spectroscopic methods (UV-vis, NMR) and potentiometric titrations affording the stability constants of the adducts formed. All three receptors form stable complexes with the substrates thanks to the formation of several salt bridges and hydrogen bond contacts, as observed in the crystal structure of the H8[3(2,6-PDC)4] x H2O x 0.5 EtOH solid compound. Additional pi-stacking interactions between t…

Thermodynamic study of the interaction of long open-chain polyazaalkanes with cobalt(II) and nickel(II) ions

1993

Complexation equilibria between the open-chain terminally methylated polyamines 1,14-bis(methylamino)-3,6,9,12- tetraazatetradecane (L1), 1,17-bis(methylamino)-3,6,9,12,15-pentaazaheptadecane (L2), 1,20-bis(methylamino)- 3,6,9,12,15,18-hexaazaicosane (L3) and 1,23-bis(methylamino)-3,6,9,12,15,18,21-heptaazatricosane (L4) with Co2+ and Ni2+ have been studied by means of potentiometric and spectrophotometric methods in 0.15 mol dm−3 NaClO4 aqueous solution at 298.15 K The stability constants for the complexes formed have been determined from e.m.f, data. All these ligands form mononuclear ML2+ complexes of similar stability with Co2+ and Ni2+. Binuclear Co2L44+, Ni2L34+ and Ni2L44+ are also f…

Entropy of transfer of n-nitroalkanes from n-octane to water at 25C

1984

Entropy of transfer of nitromethane, nitroethane, 1-nitrobutane, 1-nitropentane, and 1-nitrohexane from n-octane to water at 25°C is calculated using an electrostatic model. The calculations indicate that the electrostatic transfer entropy depends primarily on the dipole moment and the size of the-C−NO2 group, showing a trend which is similar to that previously found for the transfer free energy of the same process.

Gas—liquid chromatographic analyses

1984

Abstract The gas chromatography (GC) of n -alkyl acetates (CH 3 COOR), chloroacetates (CH 2 ClCOOR), dichloroacetates (CHCl 2 COOR) and trichloroacetates (CCl 3 COOR), where the alcohol chain length (R) varied between 1 and 8, and certain of their monochlorinated derivatives, 176 compounds altogether, has been studied on SE-30 and OV-351 glass capillary columns under the same operating conditions. The isomeric monochlorinated esters are eluted in direct order from the 1- chloro to the ω-chloro isomer, the separation of the isomers being complete on OV- 351. On SE-30, however, the peaks of the 6- and 7-chlorooctyl esters are partly overlapped. The separation of the mixtures of odd- and e…

Herbizide, 3. Mitt.

Herbicides, III: Synthesis of 4,6-Dialkyl-2-(cyanoamino)pyrimidines and Investigations of Their Structures by 13C-NMR Spectroscopy Condensation of dicyandiamide (1) with the β-diketones 2a–c leads to the 2,4-unsymmetrically substituted 2-(cyanoamino)pyrimidines 3a–c. According to investigations by 13C-NMR …
