Drug carriers were prepared by combining oligopeptidic sequences with synthetic polymeric chains. Soluble copolymers of N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide (HPMA) were synthesized containing oligopeptidic side chains terminating in a drug model (p-nitroaniline). The susceptibility of these oligopeptidic sequences to degradation on incubation with lysosomal enzymes and human serum was evaluated by monitoring the p-nitroaniline liberation. It was shown that the drug model can be attached to the polymer carrier by means of an oligopeptidic spacer stable in blood serum and degradable after the polymer has been in contact with intracellular lysosomal enzymes. Most of the described in literature pyrenes are 1,3,6,8-tetrasubstituted followed by 4,5,9,10-tetrasubstituted, 2,7-, and 1,6-, and 1,8-disubstituted pyrene derivatives. Aus der nucleophilen Substitution eines Chloratoms in 2,4-Dichlor-6-(diallylamino)-1,3,5-triazin (1) durch Amine (2a-g) gehen die Alkylamino- und Cycloalkylamino-chlor-(diallylamino)-1,3,5-triazine (3a-g) hervor. Von den zur Untermauerung des Strukturtyps 3 herangezogenen spektroskopischen Daten sind besonders charakteristisch die durch das 1,3,5-Triazinringsystem hervorgerufene IR-Bande bei 800 cm−1, die den Allylgruppen zuzuordnenden vier 1H-NMR-Signale zwischen 4,1–6,1 ppm und das beim massenspektroskopischen Abbau auftretende Rumpfkation m/e 158. The steady-state fluorescence emission spectra of the azacyclophanes 2,5,8,11-tetraaza[12] paracyclophane (L1), 2,6,9,13-tetraaza[14]paracyclophane (L2), 14,15,17,18-tetramethyl-2,5,8,11-tetraaza[12]paracyclophane (L3) and 16,17,19,20-tetramethyl-2,6,9,13-tetraaza[14]paracyclophane (L4) as a function of pH have been measured. The fully protonated species of each cyclophane gives the highest fluorescence-emission quantum yield. The shapes of the titration curves have been explained by the existence of an electron-transfer quenching effect from a non-protonated amine to the benzene chromophore. New nitrogen mustard analogues in which bis(2-chloroethyl)-amino groups are separated by oxyethylene groups, 1,14-dichloro-3,12-bis(2-chloroethyl)-3,12-diaza-6,9-dioxatetradecan (3c) and 1,17-dichloro-3,15-bis(2-chloroethyl)-3,15-diaza-6,9,12-trioxaheptadecane (3d), were synthesized by reaction of bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amine (2) with bis(2-chloroethyoxy)ethylene (1a) and with 1,11-dichloro-3,6,9-trioxaundecane (1b), respectively, followed by treatment with thionyl chloride. The analogues were then complexed with heparin. The resulting heparin-complexes show inhibiting activity against transplanted Sarcoma-180 A in mice.

A family of ferrocene-functionalised receptors of different topologies have been used as receptors for anions. The compounds have been designed to contain both amine nitrogen and ether oxygen atoms and comprises from monoaza to pentaaza derivatives both open-chain (L1, L2, L3) or cyclic (L4, L5) and having from one to five ferrocenyl groups. Solution studies directed to determine the protonation constants of L1, L2 and L3 have been carried out in water (0.1 mol dm3 KNO3, 25 °C) and those of L4 and L5 in 1,4-dioxane-water (70:30 v/v, 0.1 mol dm -3 KNO 3, 25 °C). The reaction of 2-carboxybenzaldehyde with primary amines in the presence of cyanide leads to the formation of 2-substituted amino(3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-isoindol-1-ylidene)acetonitriles. These compounds originate from the condensation of 2-carboxybenzaldehyde with the amine and two molecules of hydrogen cyanide and represent a novel class of isoindolinones.
