Why Grandes Écoles are so valued?

09033; This contribution was aimed at examining if the privileged position of Grandes Écoles on the French labour market could be linked to training and, in particular, knowledge acquired in these courses. The REFLEX survey data allows to test this hypothesis for a sample of French graduates from Grandes Écoles and University master programmes. Our results show that actually some useful skills on the labour market are more easily acquired in Grandes Écoles. This is the case in particular of 'analytical thinking' or 'ability to command a foreign language', domains on which Grandes Écoles have heavily focused their curriculum in the 1990s. Family has always inspired great novels which often highlight the relationship between the different generations. The subject of family is indeed constantly reinvested by authors regardless of their nationality or the period they depict. Almudena Grandes belongs to such category of writers and gives a paramount role to the family unit. Although a recurring topic in her literary trajectory, it has never been thoroughly studied by critics who yet analyzed many aspects of her work. Cet article analyse quelle place et quelles formes occupe dans cette littérature le discours autoritaire du IIIème Reich qui a fait l'objet d'analyses scientifiques nombreuses. Andrea Camilleri used to say he regretted that his novels were seen by his readers as more entertaining than thought-provoking. For his work carries a militant message and far-left ideas. In his narratives, the author deconstructs traditional schemes and definitions and proposes to read reality through other prisms. Thus, in his two novels Il ladro di merendine and L’altro capo del filo, Camilleri deconstructs and redefines the concept of ‘clandestinity’, both through inventio and through symbolic objects. The boundary shifts: it no longer separates the licit from the illicit but the intimate from the visible.

Il me semble en effet que, posée dans des termes aussi généraux, cette question s’avère peu féconde, quand bien même on distinguerait entre un Diderot jeune, un second Diderot, un Diderot du Rêve, etc. En revanche, si on insère le Traité dans des contextes éditoriaux précis, on peut poser la question des usages possibles du texte fontenellien à ces différents moments, puis celle des éventuels usages spécifiquement diderotiens, à la place de celle des postérités fontenelliennes dans tel ou tel moment de l’œuvre de l’encyclopédiste.
