2010
ChemInform Abstract: First Transformations of Pyrano(3,4-b)indol-3-ones to Salvadoricine and 2,3-Diacylindoles.
2010
The readily available methylated pyrano[3,4-b]indol-3-ones 1a and 1b were hydrolyzed to furnish the 2-acetylindol-3-alkanoic acids 2 and 4. Compound 2 was easily transformed selectively to 2-acetyl-3-methylindole (3, salvadoricine). Substrate 1b reacts with molecular oxygen from the air only in the presence of a catalyst to give 2,3-diacetylindole (5) while 1a reacts with nitrosobenzene via a proposed Diels-Alder step to yield 2-acetylindole-3-carbaldehyde (6). The latter product can also be obtained in low yield from the reaction of 1a with molecular oxygen from the air.
2,2-Diphenylbenzo[c]quinoline-1-oxyl
2009
In the title compound, C25H18NO, a stable phenanthridinic nitroxide, the ring containing the nitroxide function assumes a twist-boat conformation and the dihedral angle formed by adjacent benzene rings is 21.78 (5)°. The phenyl substituents at position 2 are approximately orthogonal to each other, forming a dihedral angle of 81.04 (4)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by an intramolecular C—H...O hydrogen bond and by C—H...π interactions.
Intracrystalline Diffusion of Benzene in Ga-Silicate
1991
Abstract The sorption kinetics of benzene in large Ga-MFI crystals was investigated under constant volume- variable pressure conditions. A complete analysis of the uptake curves has been performed using solution of a nonlinear Volterra equation which describes the interaction of uptake process with the apparatus. Within the time scale of uptake measurements (10 3 -10 4 s) the uptake curves were found to be consistent with the solution of the second Fick's law. Corrected diffusion coefficients were found to be essentially independent of loading within the loading range investigated and in contrast to the system benzene-HNaZSM-5 [1,2] their temperature dependence is much stronger.
Final results of the European Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma Sorafenib (EU-ARCCS) expanded-access study: a large open-label study in diverse community…
2011
Background The European Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma Sorafenib (EU-ARCCS) expanded-access study provided sorafenib to advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients in whom previous systemic therapy had failed. The study assessed the safety and use of sorafenib for the treatment of advanced RCC in a large community-based patient population across 11 countries in Europe. Patients and methods EU-ARCCS was a single-arm, open-label trial of sorafenib in advanced RCC patients. End points included safety, time to progression, progression-free survival (PFS), and disease control rate (DCR). Subgroup analyses included age, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status, histology, prior thera…
Sorafenib for recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma after liver transplantation.
2011
Abstract Background Recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma after orthotopic liver transplantation not amenable to surgical approaches is associated with poor outcome. Aims Retrospective evaluation of the safety and efficacy of sorafenib in patients with post-transplant hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence. Methods Patients with post-transplant hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence were treated with sorafenib. Adverse events were assessed using National Cancer Institute Common Toxicity Criteria of AEs version 3.0, tumour response was evaluated according to Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumours. Results First-line therapy after recurrence was surgery ( n = 6), radiation therapy ( n = 1…
Management of cirrhotic patients with hepatocellular carcinoma treated with sorafenib
2011
Sorafenib (Nexavar®, Bayer), a multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor, was the first systemic agent that demonstrated a significant improvement in the overall survival in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma and well-preserved liver function. This drug is now recommended in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma as first-line therapy and for patients not suitable for locoregional treatment. This brief article, produced by a multidisciplinary panel including specialists in gastroenterology and oncology, provides an overview of the major issues related to systemic treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma with sorafenib, including staging and prognostic strategies, assessmen…
High activity of sorafenib in FLT3-ITD-positive acute myeloid leukemia synergizes with allo-immune effects to induce sustained responses.
2012
Preliminary evidence suggests that the multikinase inhibitor sorafenib has clinical activity in FLT3-ITD-positive (FLT3-ITD) acute myeloid leukemia (AML). However, the quality and sustainability of achievable remissions and clinical variables that influence the outcome of sorafenib monotherapy are largely undefined. To address these questions, we evaluated sorafenib monotherapy in 65 FLT3-ITD AML patients treated at 23 centers. All but two patients had relapsed or were chemotherapy-refractory after a median of three prior chemotherapy cycles. Twenty-nine patients (45%) had undergone prior allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT). The documented best responses were: hematological remi…
Novel deoxycholic acid alkylamide-phenylurea-derived organogelators
2010
Abstract Three monomeric and three dimeric deoxycholic acid (DCA) alkylamido-phenylurea derivatives are designed based on known gelators and are synthesized and characterized by 1 H and 13 C NMR spectroscopy, ESI-TOF mass spectrometry, and elemental analyses. Among them, a monomeric derivative forms supramolecular gels in CHCl 3 and chlorobenzene, whereas a dimeric derivative gels THF and higher 1-alkanols containing 7–10 carbons. The morphologies of their xerogels are studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). No signature of macroscopic chirality of the gels is visible.
Der austausch des cyclopentadienylliganden im methylcyclopentadienyl-mangantricarbonyl
1981
Abstract The exchange of the cyclopentadienyl ring in methylcyclopentadienylmanganese(I) tricarbonyl by methy-substituted benzenes in the presence of aluminium halide leads to [arene-Mn(CO) 3 ] + -ions. The reaction conditions have been optimised; in addition to the yield the purity of the complexes has been determined in some detail. After mild decomposition the arenes were analysed by GLC. Pure [arene-Mn(CO) 3 ] + -ions can be isolated with benzene, toluene, m - and o -xylene.
