Very Long Term Stabilization of a 2D Magnet down to the Monolayer for Device Integration
2020
2D materials have recently demonstrated a strong potential for spintronic applications. This has been further reinforced by the discovery of ferromagnetic 2D layers. Nevertheless, the fragility of ...
A Local Study of the Transport Mechanisms in MoS2 Layers for Magnetic Tunnel Junctions
2018
MoS2-based vertical spintronic devices have attracted an increasing interest thanks to theoretical predictions of large magnetoresistance signals. However, experimental performances are still far from expectations. Here, we carry out the local electrical characterization of thin MoS2 flakes in a Co/Al2O3/MoS2 structure through conductive tip AFM measurements. We show that thin MoS2 presents a metallic behavior with a strong lateral transport contribution that hinders the direct tunnelling through thin layers. Indeed, no resistance dependence is observed with the flake thickness. These findings reveal a spin depolarization source in the MoS2-based spin valves, thus pointing to possible solut…
Lieux de culte dans l'Est de la Gaule : la place des sanctuaires dans la cité
2009
International audience; “Incubo”, an inventory of places of worship in ancient Burgundy, deals with the territories of Lingons and Éduens. This inventory already includes approximately one hundred completed index cards intended for publication. Three sites are presented here: an administrative city center, Autun (Saône-et-Loire), and two secondary cities, Vertault (Côte-d’Or) and Pierre-de-Bresse (Saône-et-Loire). These cases are representative of the different types of places of worship found in the region under investigation, but also of the various documentary states on which our inventory is based. Our object is to illustrate the potential of the Burgundian corpus and to evoke some prob…
High-pressure x-ray-absorption study of GaSe
2002
The III-VI layered semiconductor InSe has been studied by high-pressure single crystal x-ray absorption spectroscopy up to a maximum pressure of 14 GPa. The In-Se distance has been measured in both the low- pressure layered phase and the high-pressure NaCl phase. The bond compressibility in the layered phase is lower than the ``a'' crystallographic parameter compressibility, which implies an increase of the angle between the In-Se bond and the layer plane. Under plausible hypothesis, a description of the evolution of the whole structure with pressure is given. In particular, the intralayer distance is observed to increase with increasing pressure. A plausible precursor defect and a simple m…

Review of the PEA Method for Space Charge Measurements on HVDC Cables and Mini-Cables
2019
This review takes into account articles and standards published in recent years concerning the application of the Pulsed Electro Acoustic (PEA) method for space charge measurement on High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cables and mini-cables. Since the 80s, the PEA method has been implemented for space charge measurements on flat specimens in order to investigate space charge phenomena and to evaluate the ageing of dielectrics. In recent years, this technique has been adapted to cylindrical geometry. Several studies and experiments have been carried out on the use of the PEA method for full size cables and HVDC cable models. The experiments have been conducted using different arrangements of…
High-Resolution Stimulated Raman Spectroscopy and Analysis of the ν1 Stretching Band of GeD4
2007
The high-resolution stimulated Raman spectrum of the ν1 band of GeD4 with natural isotopic abundance germanium has been recorded. It has been analyzed as part of the ν1/ν3 stretching dyad. The ν1 and ν3 band centers have been deduced for all the isotopologues. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
Laser-induced enhancement of tunneling in NHD2
2012
We apply and explore techniques aiming at enhancing the tunneling by laser fields, originally developed for a one-dimensional model, to a complete six-dimensional vibrational model of the inversion motion in NHD(2). The computational study is performed with the multi-configuration time-dependent Hartree method. Assuming an ideal three-dimensional alignment we obtain a driven tunneling time twenty times smaller than the natural one, in rather good agreement with an oversimplified three-state model. In the case of one-dimensional alignment, a linearly polarized field leads to a poor enhancement of the tunneling probability, after averaging over the rotation about the alignment axis, whereas a…
A quantum dynamics study of the benzopyran ring opening guided by laser pulses
2014
Abstract The ring-opening photoisomerization of benzopyran, which occurs via a photochemical route involving a conical intersection, has been studied with quantum dynamics calculations using the multi-configuration time-dependent Hartree method (MCTDH). We introduce a mechanistic strategy to control the conversion of benzopyran to merocyanine with laser pulses. We use a six-dimensional model developed in a previous work for the potential energy surfaces (PES) based on an extension of the vibronic-coupling Hamiltonian model (diabatization method by ansatz), which depends on the most active degrees of freedom. The main objective of these quantum dynamics simulations is to provide a set of str…
Full-dimensional control of the radiationless decay in pyrazine using the dynamic Stark effect
2014
We present a full quantum-mechanical study of the laser control of the radiationless decay between the B3u(nπ(*)) and B2u(ππ(*)) states of pyrazine using the dynamic Stark effect. In contrast to our previous study [Sala et al., J. Chem. Phys. 140, 194309 (2014)], where a four-dimensional model was used, all the 24 degrees of freedom are now included in order to test the robustness of the strategy of control. Using a vibronic coupling Hamiltonian model in a diabatic representation, the multi-layer version of the multi-configuration time-dependent Hartree method is exploited to propagate the corresponding wave packets. We still observe a trapping of the wavepacket on the B2u(ππ(*)) potential …
