Strontium and iron-doped barium cobaltite prepared by solution combustion synthesis: exploring a mixed-fuel approach for tailored intermediate temper…
2013
Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3-? (BSCF) powders were prepared by solution combustion synthesis using single and double fuels. The effect of the fuel mixture on the main properties of this well-known solid oxide fuel cell cathode material with high oxygen ion and electronic conduction was investigated in detail. Results showed that the fuel mixture significantly affected the area-specific resistance of the BSCF cathode materials, by controlling the oxygen deficiency and stabilizing the Co2+ oxidation state. It was demonstrated that high fuel-to-metal cations molar ratios and high reducing power of the combustion fuel mixture are mainly responsible for the decreasing of the area-specific resistance o…

Chalcogenide Glasses Based on Germanium Disulfide for Second Harmonic Generation
2007
International audience; High second-order susceptibilities are created by thermal poling in bulk germanium disulfide based chalcogenide glasses. Experimental conditions of the poling treatment (temperature, voltage, time) were optimized for each glass composition. The second-order nonlinear signals were recorded by using the Maker fringes experiment and a second-order coefficient χ(2) up to 8 pm V-1 was measured in the Ge25Sb10S65 glass. This value is obtained using a simulation based on accurate knowledge of the thickness of the nonlinear layer. Two mechanisms are proposed to explain the creation of a nonlinear layer under the anode: the formation and the migration of charged defects towar…
Optical grating recording in ChG thin film by electron beam
2013
Abstract Recording capabilities of As Se S chalcogenide (ChG) glasses using electron beam (EB) lithography have been investigated in this study. After exposure with EB the thin films of these inorganic glasses can be etched in alkaline amine solvent with high selectivity. High resolution, smooth shaped structures have been fabricated using ChG thin films. Height of developed pattern can be controlled through changing applied electron dose.

Capacitance-voltage characteristics of organic light-emitting diodes varying the cathode metal: Implications for interfacial states
2007
Capacitance-voltage $(C\text{\ensuremath{-}}V)$ characteristics of organic light-emitting diodes based on a polyphenylenevinylene have been measured by means of impedance spectroscopy. The effect of the metallic cathode (Au, Ag, Al, Mg, and Ba) was analyzed in the low-frequency region $(2\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{Hz})$ of the capacitive response. The $C\text{\ensuremath{-}}V$ curves collapse into a single pattern in the low bias region, and exhibit a dependence on the cathode work function showing a crossover from positive to negative (inductive) values. The voltage corresponding to the onset of the inductive behavior shifts toward higher bias as the cathode work function increases…
Trends of Organic Electrosynthesis by Using Boron-Doped Diamond Electrodes
2019
The electro-organic synthesis is currently experiencing a renaissance due to the tremendous contributions of various electrocatalytic materials as well as the use of electric current as an inexpensive and suitable reagent to drive the electrosynthetic transformations, avoiding conventional chemical oxidizers or reducing agents. Consequently, electrosynthesis has a significant technical impact, because these processes can be easily scaled up, benefiting from advantages such as versatility, environmental compatibility (possibility of recovering and recycling non-converted substrates), automation (switching on or off electric current), inherent safety and potential cost effectiveness among oth…
Precision mass measurements using a penning trap and highly charged ions produced in an electron beam ion source
1997
A method for precision mass measurements in a Penning trap using highly charged ions produced in an electron beam ion source (CRYSIS) has been developed. The cyclotron frequencies for O8+, 7+, 6+, 5+ and Ar18+, 17+, 16+, 15+, 14+, 13+ ions have been determined by the excitation of the sum frequency v+ + v−. In addition to CRYSIS ions, H+, H2+ and He+ ions were produced by electron bombardment of the H2 rest gas or helium gas introduced through an UHV leak valve into an auxiliary ion trap (or a pre-trap). A technique for fast (seconds) interchanging of the ion species in the precision trap has been implemented to reduce the long term magnetic field drift.
Synergistic Effects of Surface Coating and Bulk Doping in Ni-Rich Lithium Nickel Cobalt Manganese Oxide Cathode Materials for High-Energy Lithium Ion…
2022
Ni-rich layered oxide cathodes are promising candidates to satisfy the increasing energy demand of lithium-ion batteries for automotive applications. Thermal and cycling stability issues originating from increasing Ni contents are addressed by mitigation strategies such as elemental bulk substitution ("doping") and surface coating. Although both approaches separately benefit the cycling stability, there are only few reports investigating the combination of two of such approaches. Herein, the combination of Zr as common dopant in commercial materials with effective Li2 WO4 and WO3 coatings was investigated with special focus on the impact of different material processing conditions on struct…
