Abstract The reaction of [Cp*2NbCl2] (Cp*=η5-C5Me5) with KOH or Ba(OH)2·8H2O in THF was investigated under slightly modified conditions. In addition to the known complex [Cp*2Nb(O)H] (1), the new compound [Cp*2Nb(O)OH] (2) was formed. The reaction of 2 with PhNCS gave yellow [Cp*2Nb(O){SC(O)NHPh}] (3), while PhNCO formed yellow [Cp*2Nb(O){OC(O)NHPh}] (4). Complexes 3 and 4 were analytically and spectroscopically characterized. X-ray diffraction analyses of both compounds show that they contain either η1-S-thiocarbamato (3) or η1-O-carbamato ligand (4) along with a terminal NbO group. Reactions of divalent metal salts of Co, Ni and Zn with 1,2-di(salicylaldimino-o-phenylthio) ethane (H2L1) and 1,2-di(naphthaldimino-o-phenylthio) ethane (H2L2), having N2O2S2 cores, and 1,2-di(O-salicylaldimino-o-hydroxyphenyl) ethane (H2L3), having a N2O4 core, have been explored. Out of the three ligands and the nine products obtained from the corresponding reactions, two ligands and seven products were crystallographically characterized. However, all the ligands and the products were characterized by analytical and spectral methods. The molecular structure of {2-[(CH3)2NCH2]C6H4}2Pb (1) in the solid state was determined by X-ray diffraction techniques on a single crystalline material. Bulky amido ligand stabilized complexes [(i-C3H7)2C6H3]NHLi (2) and [(i-C3H7)2C6H3N(Me3Si)]2Pb (3) were synthesized and characterized both in the solid state and solution by 1H, 13C, 15N and 207Pb NMR and XRD techniques. The structure of both C,N-chelated and bulky amido plumbylenes is compared.
Preparation and structural studies on diorganotin(IV) complexes of N-nitroso-N-phenylhydroxylaminates

Abstract Diorganotin(IV)-complexes of the N -nitroso- N -phenylhydroxylaminates (hereinafter cupf), Et 2 Sn(cupf) 2 ( 1 ), Bu 2 Sn(cupf) 2 ( 2 ), {[Bu 2 Sn(cupf)] 2 O} 2 ( 3 ), t -Bu 2 Sn(cupf) 2 ( 4 ) and Oc 2 Sn(cupf) 2 ( 5 , 6 ) were prepared and characterised by FT-IR and Mossbauer spectroscopic measurements. The binding modes of the ligand were identified by FT-IR spectroscopy, and it was found that the ligand is coordinated in chelating or bridging mode to the organotin(IV) center. The 119 Sn Mossbauer and FT-IR studies support the formation of trans -O h ( 1 – 6 ) structures. The pituitary-gonadal function was studied in 18 beta-thalassemic female adolescents, 8 with delayed puberty and 10 with primary amenorrhea,treated with repeated transfusions and long-term iron chelation therapy by subcutaneous infusion. A 100 micrograms gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) test, a double-bolus GnRH test after estradiol administration in non-responders, a 400 micrograms thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) test and a 'high dose' human menopausal gonadotropin (hMG) test were performed. Abstract The ability of aromatic acid hydrazides, RCONHNH, to act as bidentate chelating agents towards diorganotin(IV) dichlorides has been investigated. The structure of the complexes were deduced from IR, NMR and Mossbauer spectroscopic techniques in combination with analytical data. The R2SnCI2.L complexes have octahedral geometry where the tin atom is chelated with one ligand (via carbonyl oxygen and hydrazinic nitrogen atoms), two chlorine atoms are in equatorial positions while the R groups are in the axial positions.
