Update on gingival overgrowth by cyclosporine A in renal transplants

Severe gingival overgrowth is one of the most frequent side effects in renal transplant patients associated with assumption of cyclosporine A. Several associations with age, sex, dosage, duration of therapy or interval since transplantation have been hypothesized. The introduction of alternative immunosuppressant drugs have been suggested to permit better long-term transplant outcomes and a decrease in incidence of gingival overgrowth. A real-space approach to the analysis of stacking faults in close-packed metals: Modelling and Q-space feedback Longo Alessandro

An R-space approach to the simulation and fitting of a structural model to the experimental pair distribution function is described, to investigate the structural disorder (distance distribution and stacking faults) in close-packed metals. This is carried out by transferring the Debye function analysis into R space and simulating the low-angle and high-angle truncation for the evaluation of the relevant Fourier transform. The strengths and weaknesses of the R-space approach with respect to the usual Q-space approach are discussed.

This paper analyses the disclosure on the directors’ remuneration, whose primary role in a company, makes their information of particular interest to different stakeholders. The authors’ aim is to investigate the official documents (for 2009) of the 50 most capitalized listed Italian companies, in order to verify the compulsory and/or voluntary disclosure provided about the remuneration paid to their directors. The findings will be summarized in a disclosure index whose correlation with some parameters (selected on the basis of specific research hypothesis) concerning board structure and company size will be assessed.

Exciton and multiexciton optical properties of single InAs/GaAs site-controlled quantum dots

We have studied the optical properties of InAs site-controlled quantum dots (SCQDs) grown on pre-patterned GaAs substrates. Since InAs nucleates preferentially on the lithography motifs, the location of the resulting QDs is determined by the pattern, which is fabricated by local oxidation nanolithography. Optical characterization has been performed on such SCQDs to study the fundamental and excited states. At the ground state different exciton complex transitions of about 500 μeV linewidth have been identified and the fine structure splitting of the neutral exciton has been determined (≈65 μeV). La fouille du site de Crevans (Haute-Saône) a permis de reconnaitre un bâtiment maçonné rectangulaire, pourvu d’un porche, et un grand enclos carré. Le site, très arasé, n’a livré que peu de mobilier à l’exception d’un dépôt dans le grand enclos, postérieur à son abandon, et une fosse avec des quartiers de bœuf au centre du bâtiment. Si la caractérisation du site, au seul regard de son plan, n’est pas possible, l’examen du mobilier des dépôts permet de proposer une fonction cultuelle à l’ensemble.
