Bright Blue Phosphorescence from Cationic Bis-Cyclometalated Iridium(III) Isocyanide Complexes

2012

We report new bis-cyclometalated cationic indium(III) complexes [((CN)-N-boolean AND)(2)Ir(CN-tert-Bu)(2)](CF3SO3) that have tert-butyl isocyanides as neutral auxiliary ligands and 2-phenylpyridine or 2-(4'-fluoropheny1)-R-pyridines (where R is 4-methoxy, 4-tert-butyl, or 5-trifluoromethyl) as (CN)-N-boolean AND ligands. The complexes are white or pale yellow solids that show irreversible reduction and oxidation processes and have a large electrochemical gap of 3.58-3.83 V. They emit blue or bluegreen phosphorescence in liquid/solid solutions from a cyclometalating-ligand-centered excited state. Their emission spectra show vibronic structure with the highest-energy luminescence peak at 440-…

Preparation and reactions of palladium(II) complexes with C2-bonded heteroaromatic ligands trans[PdCl(RN)(PPh3)2] (RN = 2-pyridyl, 2-pirazyl, 2-pyrim…

1986

Abstract The complexes trans -[PdCl(R N )(PPh 3 ) 2 ] (I) [R N = 2-pyridyl (2-Py), 2-pyrazyl (2-pyz), 2-pyrimidyl (2-pym) group] have been prepared in high yield by deprotonation with NEt 3 of the corresponding cationic compounds trans [PdCl(R N H) (PPh 3 ) 2 ] + (R N H = N -protonated C 2 -heteroaromatic ligand) in the presence of an excess of PPh 3 . In chlorinated solvents, complexes I undergo a slow reversible dimerization into the binuclear derivatives [PdCl(μ-R N )(PPh 3 )] 2 (II) (μ-R N = C 2 , N 1 -bridging ligand). From the 31 P NMR spectra in 1,2-dichloroethane the following dissociation constants were obtained: 1.9 mol 1 −1 (R N = 2-py), 5.1 × 10 −2 (2-pym), 6.6 × 10 −3 (2-pyz). …

Kinetic experiments on the synergistic effect of NADH on microsomal drug oxidation.

1974

Abstract1. The synergistic effect of NADH on the NADPH-dependent mixed function oxidation of p-nitroanisole and hexobarbital can be measured both photometrically and by following the substrate-induced oxygen consumption. The increase in reaction rate is about 50% and lasts as long as NADH is present in the microsomal suspension.2. The oxidation of added NADH is increased by hexobarbital, ethylmorphine and SKF 525-A. Lineweaver-Burk transformation of the NADH oxidation rates yields straight lines for xenobiotic substrates suggesting Michaelis constants similar to those obtained from metabolic experiments. NADH oxidation in the absence of NADPH is about half as rapid as in its presence.3. Som…

Action of metyrapone on the redox state of free nicotinamide-adenine dinucleotide and on oxygen consumption of perfused rat livers and isolated mitoc…

1971

Metyrapone [2-methyl-1,2-bis-(3-pyridyl)-1-propanone] in a concentration of 5 mM increased the lactate/pyruvate ratio and theΒ-hydroxybutyrate/ acetoacetate ratio in the perfusion fluid of the isolated rat liver by a factor of 6 indicating a considerable shift in the ratio of free [NAD]/[NADH] in both the cytoplasmic and the mitochondrial compartment. Oxygen uptake of the isolated liver was decreased to about one half. The onset of the inhibitory effect on the respiration of the isolated organ was immediate. The inhibition lasted for at least 1 h.

Azole-containing cationic bis-cyclometallated iridium(iii) isocyanide complexes: a theoretical insight into the emission energy and emission efficien…

2019

Using a density functional theory approach, we explore the emission properties of a family of bis-cyclometallated cationic iridium(iii) complexes of general formula [Ir(C^N)2(CN-tert-Bu)2]+ that have tert-butyl isocyanides as neutral auxiliary ligands. Taking the [Ir(ppy)2(CN-tert-Bu)2]+ complex (Hppy = 2-phenylpyridine) as a reference, the effect of replacing the pyridine ring in the cyclometallating ppy ligand by a five-membered azole ring has been examined. To this end, two series of complexes differing by the nature of the atom (either nitrogen or carbon) linking the azole to the phenyl ring of the cyclometallating ligand have been designed. Each series is composed of three molecules ha…

A novel two-dimensional honeycomb-like bimetallic iron(iii)–nickel(ii) cyanide-bridged magnetic material [Ni(cyclam)]3[Fe(CN)6]2·nH2O (cyclam = 1,4,8…

1999

The 2D honeycomb-like layered iron(iii)–nickel(ii) cyanidebridged complex [Ni(cyclam)]3[Fe(CN)6]2·nH2O exhibits ferromagnetic intralayer and antiferromagnetic interlayer interactions; above 3 K the magnetic properties are typical of a metamagnet with Hc = 5000 G, whereas below 3 K a canted structure is formed, leading to a long range ferromagnetic ordering. Magnetic and magneto-optical properties of nickel hexacyanoferrate/chromate thin films

2017

One of the most important challenges of modern science and technology is the quest for novel and tuneable materials, the properties of which can be widely controlled by chemical modifications or external stimuli. Simultaneously, an interest in the development of magnetic thin films also gains significant attention. In the current paper we bring together both these challenges and present a study of a new type of low-dimensional nickel hexacyanoferrate/chromate system. Thin films were obtained by the "layer by layer" deposition technique, where the ratio of Fe/Cr was controlled by the dipping sequence. The scope of this work is a comprehensive analysis of structural, spectroscopic and magneti…

Cyanide-bridged iron(III)-cobalt(II) double zigzag ferromagnetic chains: two new molecular magnetic nanowires.

2003

and opened the perspective of a potential useof 1D magnetic molecular nanowires for information storage.Even though 1D magnetism is a very active area of research, such dynamic behavior was never detected before since it isnot clear how to fulfill experimentally the requirements of aperfect 1D Ising-type chain. This finding prompted us to lookcarefully at 1D systems containing anisotropic elements, suchas cobalt(ii) and low-spin iron(iii) centers that we synthesizedrecently,
