Post-extraction mesio-distal gap reduction assessment by confocal laser scanning microscopy - a clinical 3-month follow-up study
2017
[EN] AimThe aim of this 3-month follow-up study is to quantify the reduction in the mesio-distal gap dimension (MDGD) that occurs after tooth extraction through image analysis of three-dimensional images obtained with the confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) technique. Materials and MethodsFollowing tooth extraction, impressions of 79 patients 1month and 72 patients 3months after tooth extraction were obtained. Cast models were processed by CLSM, and MDGD changes between time points were measured. ResultsThe mean mesio-distal gap reduction 1month after tooth extraction was 343.4m and 3months after tooth extraction was 672.3m. The daily mean gap reduction rate during the first term (bet…
Mappings of Finite Distortion : Compactness of the Branch Set
2017
We show that an entire branched cover of finite distortion cannot have a compact branch set if its distortion satisfies a certain asymptotic growth condition. We furthermore show that this bound is strict by constructing an entire, continuous, open and discrete mapping of finite distortion which is piecewise smooth, has a branch set homeomorphic to an (n - 2)-dimensional torus and distortion arbitrarily close to the asymptotic bound. On multiplicities of cocharacters for algebras with superinvolution
2021
Abstract In this paper we deal with finitely generated superalgebras with superinvolution, satisfying a non-trivial identity, whose multiplicities of the cocharacters are bounded by a constant. Along the way, we prove that the codimension sequence of such algebras is polynomially bounded if and only if their colength sequence is bounded by a constant.
Varieties with at most quadratic growth
2010
Let V be a variety of non necessarily associative algebras over a field of characteristic zero. The growth of V is determined by the asymptotic behavior of the sequence of codimensions cn(V); n = 1; 2, … and here we study varieties of polynomial growth. Recently, for any real number a, 3 < a < 4, a variety V was constructed satisfying C1n^a < cn(V) < C2n^a; for some constants C1;C2. Motivated by this result here we try to classify all possible growth of varieties V such that cn(V) < Cn^a; with 0 < a < 2, for some constant C. We prove that if 0 < a < 1 then, for n large, cn(V) ≤ 1, whereas if V is a commutative variety and 1 < a < 2, then lim logn cn(V) = 1 o…
LE BÉNÉVOLAT POUR DES ÉVÉNEMENTS SPÉCIAUX: COMPARAISON ENTRE LA VALEUR ATTENDUE ET LA VALEUR PERÇUE
2016

Entire Functions of Bounded Type on Fréchet Spaces
1993
We show that holomorphic mappings of bounded type defined on Frechet spaces extend to the bidual. The relationship between holomorphic mappings of bounded type and of uniformly bounded type is discussed and some algebraic and topological properties of the space of all entire mappings of (uniformly) bounded type are proved, for example a holomorphic version of Schauder's theorem.
Feature selection with Ant Colony Optimization and its applications for pattern recognition in space imagery
2016
This paper presents a feature selection (FS) algorithm using Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). It is inspired by the particular behavior of real ants, namely by the fact that they are capable of finding the shortest path between a food source and the nest. There are considered two ACO-FS model applications for pattern recognition in remote sensing imagery: ACO Band Selection (ACO-BS) and ACO Training Label Purification (ACO-TLP). The ACO-BS reduces dimensionality of an input multispectral image data by selecting the “best” subset of bands to accomplish the classification task. The ACO-TLP selects the most informative training samples from a given set of labeled vectors in order to optimize the…
Dalitz plot analyses of J/ψ→π+π−π0 , J/ψ→K+K−π0 , and J/ψ→Ks0K±π∓ produced via e+e− annihilation with initial-state radiation
2017
We study the processes e^+e^− → γISR J/ψ, where J/ψ → π^+π^−π^0, J/ψ → K^+K^−π^0, and J/ψ → K^0_SK^±π^∓ using a data sample of 519 fb^(−1) recorded with the BABAR detector operating at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+e^− collider at center-of-mass energies at and near the Υ(nS) (n=2,3,4) resonances. We measure the ratio of branching fractions R_1 = ^(B(J/ψ → K^+K^−π^0)) /_(B(J/ψ → π^+π^−π^0)) and R_2 = ^(B(J/ψ → K^0_SK^±π^∓))/_(B(J/ψ → π^+π^−π^0)). We perform Dalitz plot analyses of the three J/ψ decay modes and measure fractions for resonances contributing to the decays. We also analyze the J/ψ → π^+π^−π^0 decay using the Veneziano model. We observe structures compatible with the pres…
Identification of markers for the selection of patients undergoing renal cell carcinoma-specific immunotherapy
2003
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) represents the most common malignant tumor in the kidney and is resistant to conventional therapies. The diagnosis of RCC is often delayed leading to progression and metastatic spread of the disease. Thus, validated markers for the early detection of the disease as well as selection of patients undergoing specific therapy is urgently needed. Using treatment with the monoclonal antibody (mAb) G250 as a model, proteome-based strategies were implemented for the identification of markers which may allow the discrimination between responders and nonresponders prior to application of G250-mediated immunotherapy. Flow cytometry revealed G250 surface expression in approxi…
