Graphene Field-Effect Transistors Employing Different Thin Oxide Films: A Comparative Study

In this work, we report on a comparison among graphene field-effect transistors (GFETs) employing different dielectrics as gate layers to evaluate their microwave response. In particular, aluminum oxide (Al$_{2}$O$_{3}$), titanium oxide (TiO$_{2}$), and hafnium oxide (HfO$_{2}$) have been tested. GFETs have been fabricated on a single chip and a statistical analysis has been performed on a set of 24 devices for each type of oxide. Direct current and microwave measurements have been carried out on such GFETs and short circuit current gain and maximum available gain have been chosen as quality factors to evaluate their microwave performance. Aerosol optical properties and direct radiative forcing based on measurements from the China Aerosol Remote Sensing Network (CARSNET) in eastern China

Aerosol pollution in eastern China is an unfortunate consequence of the region's rapid economic and industrial growth. Here, sun photometer measurements from seven sites in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) from 2011 to 2015 were used to characterize the climatology of aerosol microphysical and optical properties, calculate direct aerosol radiative forcing (DARF) and classify the aerosols based on size and absorption. Bimodal size distributions were found throughout the year, but larger volumes and effective radii of fine-mode particles occurred in June and September due to hygroscopic growth and/or cloud processing. The School of Architecture of Palermo since its founding in 1779 with the creation of the chair of Civil Architecture entrusted to Joseph Venantius Marvuglia has become the place of testing exploration of issues related to professional practice and the art of building. Carlo Giachery Professor of Static and Civil Architecture from 1837 to 1865 is the first to feel the deep crisis of the educational system of the school of architecture of Palermo. For him architecture and applied sciences to architecture found in their stereotomy confirmation of the existence of correspondent relationships in their evolutionary process. The notion of stereotomy taken by Carlo Giachery in teaching reconnects directly to the noble art of coupe des pierres. Taken together the teaching aids used to show a theoretical advance that Giachery inclined in the direction of elasticity of the materials. Noting the outcomes of teaching his students have the clear perception of how the teaching on stereotomy is the compendium of all the French tradition on the subject. With the establishment of the School of Application for Engineers and Architects in 1866 the steretomia seems to gradually lose interest in favor of the prevailing metal construction. L’invenzione riguarda la realizzazione di un pannello di vetromattoni montati “a secco” -da impiegare per la realizzazione di involucri edilizi traslucidi anche nel caso di edifici alti- che è in grado di rispondere adeguatamente alle sollecitazioni orizzontali (quali quelle dovute a vento e sisma) grazie all’applicazione della tecnica della precompressione mondirezionale. The invention is related to the construction of a glassblock panel “dry assembled” that can be used to build translucent building envelope even in high-rise buildings. This panel is able to contrast the horizontal actions due to wind and earthquake by means of the application of unidirectional pre-stressing technique. To overcame the limits due to the “wet assembly” system traditionally used to assemble the glassblocks the use of prestressing technique allow the panels to have an adequate mechanical resistance against the actions perpendicular to their installation plane. In this configuration the mechanical resistance of the glassblocks is exploited. The unidirectional prestressing (along the prevalent dimension of the panel) is obtained through the grip of the nuts inserted in the steel bars that are housed inside the glassblocks supporting profiles positioned in the vertical cavities between the glassblocks and passing through the horizontal profiles useful to separate glassblock rows from each other. The proper nuts grip opposing to the steel plates positioned at the top and bottom of the panel allow to prestress the panel. The pandemic crisis has accelerated the diffusion of learning environments characterized by the intensive use of technology. This novelty represents a transversal objective of the professionalization of the university teacher with a particular declination on the pedagogical-didactic-evaluation side as a strategic issue for the development of higher education. This paper presents the results of research conducted with 119 newly recruited university teachers and 20 Department Directors. The aim of the research was on the one hand to detect the perception of newly hired teachers related to their teaching metacognitive and evaluative skills with reference to distance learning to highlight specific characteristics that could have encouraged or hindered adaptation to this new condition. On the other hand through the qualitative research the aim has been to penetrate in depth the challenges posed by the digital revolution at University by carrying out 20 interviews with privileged witnesses who represent on the national scene agents of institutional change. The volume Tommaso Maria Napoli Utriusque Architecturae Brief Compendium 1688 Rome treaty on civil and military factories and preservation of the architecture of the Dominican friar Tommaso Maria Napoli wants to help increase our understanding of the principles that should underpin the realization of civil and military baroque and late baroque period as expressed in the short treatise written by the monk architect born in Palermo Tommaso Maria Napoli (1659-1725) and published in Rome at the end of the seventeenth century. This translation from the Latin of the treaty drawn up by experts (Fabio Zarbo e Pietro Zarbo) included is an interesting research drafted jointly with Giuseppe Tantillo status of some of the architecture without realizing or attributed to the architect Tommaso Maria Napoli. In fact some cards are attached to the volume on the substance and state of preservation of the cathedral of the Assumption of Mary in Dubrovnik (Croatia) of the villas Valguarnera and Palagonia in Bagheria (near Palermo Italy) of the monument to the Immaculate and one of the towers of the church of San Domenico in Palermo (Italy). The volume is enriched by the presentation and afterword by Francesco Tomaselli that among other things starting from the definition of Restoration expressed by Tommaso Maria Napoli in his book presents a stimulating reflection on the meaning of Restoration. Dictionary-symbolwise flexible parsing

AbstractLinear-time optimal parsing algorithms are rare in the dictionary-based branch of the data compression theory. A recent result is the Flexible Parsing algorithm of Matias and Sahinalp (1999) that works when the dictionary is prefix closed and the encoding of dictionary pointers has a constant cost. We present the Dictionary-Symbolwise Flexible Parsing algorithm that is optimal for prefix-closed dictionaries and any symbolwise compressor under some natural hypothesis. In the case of LZ78-like algorithms with variable costs and any, linear as usual, symbolwise compressor we show how to implement our parsing algorithm in linear time.
