De la performance musicale dans la Guyane traditionnelle : expression cognitive singulière d?une musique-verbe
2021
Guianese culture and traditional music, here evoked, are various. It is more a transcultural process that, along centuries, gave an original result born in the Americas, in Guiana in this case. It is a form of refoundation, of recreation of cultures and new human beings generally called Creoles. The musical performance, that I study here, is the echo of social and cultural space of this reformulation of thought, life, and conception of the world. It is, as well, a mean of transposition and transformation of the values issued of diverse sources and categories. It is in no way a second-rate cultural practice, as it is the place where were born philosophies and actions for common life as well …
Multispectral and autofluorescence RGB imaging for skin cancer diagnostics
2019
This paper presents the results of statistical clinical data, combining two diagnostic methods. A combination of two skin imaging methods – diffuse reflectance and autofluorescence – has been applied for skin cancer diagnostics. Autofluorescence (AF) and multispectral diffuse reflectance images were acquired by custom made prototype with 405 nm, 526 nm, 663 nm and 964 nm LEDs and RGB CMOS camera. Parameter p’ was calculated from diffuse reflectance images under green, red and infrared illumination, AF intensity (I’) was calculated from AF images exited at 405nm wavelength. Obtained results show that criterion p` > 1 gives possibility to discriminate melanomas and different kind of keratosis…
Different modes of activating phosphofructokinase, a key regulatory enzyme of glycolysis, in working vertebrate muscle
2002
Glycolytic flux in white muscle can be increased several-hundredfold by exercise. Phosphofructokinase (PFK; EC 2.7.1.11) is a key, regulatory enzyme of glycolysis, but how its activity in muscle is controlled is not fully, understood. In order not to neglect integrative aspects of metabolic regulation, we have studied in frogs (Rana temporaria) a physiological form of muscle work (swimming) that can be triggered like a reflex. We analysed swimming to fatigue in well rested frogs, recovery from exercise, and repeated exercise after 2 h of recovery. At various times, gastrocnemius muscles were tested for glycolytic intermediates and effectors of PFK. All metabolites responded similarly to the…
Crear y gestionar conocimiento en red: agentes y procesos implicados.
2013
Neuromuscular function during drop jumps in young and elderly males
2011
The Hoffman reflex (H-reflex), indicating alpha-motoneuron pool activity, has been shown to be task - and in resting conditions - age dependent. How aging affects H-reflex activity during explosive movements is not clear at present. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of aging on H-reflexes during drop jumps, and its possible role in drop jump performance. Ten young (26.8 ± 2.7 years) and twenty elderly (64.2 ± 2.7 years) subjects participated in the study. Maximal drop jump performance and soleus H-reflex response (H/M jump) 20 ms after ground contact were measured in a sledge ergometer. Maximal H-reflex, maximal M-wave, Hmax/Mmax-ratio and H-reflex excitability curves wer…
Do patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease and somatoform tendencies benefit from antireflux surgery?
2019
Source at http://dx.doi.org/10.3748/wjg.v25.i3.388. BACKGROUND - The clinical presentation of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) shows a large symptom variation also in different intensities among patients. As several studies have shown, there is a large overlap in the symptomatic spectrum between proven GERD and other disorders such as dyspepsia, functional heartburn and/or somatoform disorders. AIM - To prospectively evaluate the GERD patients with and without somatoform disorders before and after laparoscopic antireflux surgery. METHODS - In a tertiary referral center for foregut surgery over a period of 3 years patients with GERD, qualifying for the indication of laparoscopic antire…
Tutkimusta lasten kanssa
2023
Artikkelissa tarkastellaan lasten ja tutkijoiden välisiä sukupolvisuhteita tutkimustoiminnassa. Tutkimusmenetelmänä ja tutkijoihin kohdistuvana pedagogisena menetelmänä käytetään kollaboratiivista autoetnografiaa. Artikkelissa hyödynnetään Pierre Bourdieun episteemisen refleksiivisyyden ajatusta eli tutkijan ja tutkittavien suhteiden ja asemien kriittistä arviointia. Lisäksi tutkimustoiminnassa toteutuvia sukupolvisuhteita tarkastellaan eksistentiaalisen, episteemisen ja juridis-eettisen ulottuvuuden avulla. Tutkimusaineisto koostuu tutkijoiden kirjoittamista autoetnografisista teksteistä sekä lapsille suunnattujen työpajojen litteraateista. Analyysi osoittaa, miten tärkeää on hahmottaa las…
MOTOR DYSFUNCTION OF THE "NON AFFECTED" LOWER LIMB: A KINEMATIC COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN HEMIPARETIC STROKE AND TOTAL KNEE PROSTHESIZED PATIENTS
2009
In patients with hemispheric stroke, abnormal motor performances are described also in the ipsilateral limbs. They may be due to a cortical reorganization in the unaffected hemisphere; moreover, also peripheral mechanisms may play a role. To explore this hypothesis, we studied motor performances in 15 patients with hemispheric stroke and in 14 patients with total knee arthroplasty, which have a reduced motility in the prosthesized leg. Using the unaffected leg, they performed five superimposed circular trajectories in a prefixed pathway on a computerized footboard, while looking at a marker on the computer screen. The average trace error was significantly different between the groups of pat…
Prediction of soil texture distributions using VNIR-SWIR reflectance spectroscopy
2013
Abstract Reflectance spectroscopy provides an alternate method to non-destructively characterize key soil properties. Different approaches, including chemometrics techniques or specific absorption features, have been proposed to estimate soil properties from visible and near-infrared (VNIR, 400-1200 nm) and shortwave infrared (SWIR, 1200-2500 nm) reflectance domains. The main goal of this study was to test the performance of two distinct methods for soil texture estimation by VNIR-SWIR reflectance measurements: i) the Continuum Removal (CR) technique that was used to correlate specific spectral absorption features with clay, silt and sand content, and ii) the Partial Least-Squares Regressio…
Indoktrinaation haaste ja dialogi-opetuksen vastine : kykenevätkö dialoginen ja kommunikatiivinen opettaminen vastaamaan indoktrinaation uhkaan?
2012
