Isometric force-time parameters in monitoring of strength training : with special reference to acute responses to different loading resistances

The aim of the present series of studies was to investigate acute neuromuscular responses to (1) different strength training loadings and using (2) different external resistances. In addition, chronic adaptations and dynamic performances were compared to (3) the changes in isometric force-time parameters at the group level, and to (4) the individual timing of the improvement in the rate of force development (RFD) due to hypertrophic or maximum strength followed by power strength training periods. Il cannabinoide sintetico WIN 55,212-2 è un potente agonista sintetico del recettore per i cannabinoidi con spiccate potenzialità antitumorali. Gli esperimenti riportati in questa tesi sono stati condotti per delineare gli effetti indotti dal WIN sulla proliferazione, la migrazione e la sensibilizzazione alla morte indotta dalla citochina TRAIL in cellule di osteosarcoma umano MG63. I risultati ottenuti mostrano che il WIN induce un blocco del ciclo cellulare in fase G2/M che è associato all’induzione dei principali markers di ER stress (GRP78, CHOP e TRB3). The severity of aortic stenosis (AS) has traditionally been graded by measuring hemodynamic parameters of transvalvular pressure gradient, ejection jet velocity, or estimating valve orifice area. Recent research has highlighted limitations of these criteria at effectively grading AS in presence of left ventricle (LV) dysfunction. We hypothesized that simulations coupling the aorta and LV could provide meaningful insight into myocardial biomechanical derangements that accompany AS. Climate change induces increasingly frequent periods of water deficits during the crop cycle. These periods of water stress negatively impact the plant, notably by limiting the availability of resources (water, mineral elements) and by limiting carbon fixation by the plant. In this context, several studies highlighted the beneficial effect of “priming” of a first stress on the response to a second stress by the induction of a transcriptional memory. This study aimed to characterize the physiological and structural responses of potted one-year-old olive trees belonging to two olive cultivars—‘Nocellara del Belice’ and ‘Cerasuola’—exposed to prolonged drought under greenhouse conditions.
