Nonlinear Disorder Mapping via Three Wave Mixing in Poled Lithium Tantalate
2010
We introduce and test a simple approach for the characterization of domain distribution in bulk quadratic ferroelectric crystals, such as periodically poled Lithium Tantalate with random mark-to space ratio.
Magnetic dichroism in photoemission with unpolarized light.
1994
A magnetic dichroism in photoemission from ferromagnets induced by unpolarized light is observed for the first time in the valence band region as well as for surface states. The study was carried out with magnetized Fe(110), Co(0001), and Gd(0001) films grown epitaxially on W(110). This phenomenon leads to an intensity asymmetry for opposite directions of the sample magnetization. It can be easily used for a routine laboratory diagnostic of magnetic behavior. A simple theoretical interpretation of the phenomenon based on the atomic model is given.
A [Cr2Ni] coordination polymer: slow relaxation of magnetization in quasi-one-dimensional ferromagnetic chains
2018
The reaction of [Cr3IIIO(OAc)6(H2O)3]NO3·AcOH with 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde, 2-amino-isobutyric acid and NiCl2·6H2O in MeOH, under basic and solvothermal conditions, led to the formation of the quasi-1D coordination polymer {[CrIII2NiII(L)4(MeOH)2]}n (where L = the dianion of the Schiff base between 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde and 2-amino-isobutyric acid), which behaves as a ferromagnetic chain, displaying slow relaxation of magnetization.
High-nuclearity magnetic clusters: Magnetic interactions in clusters encapsulated by molecular metal oxides
1995
Abstract The ability of the molecular metal oxides derived from the Keggin anion [PW 12 O 40 ] 3− to accommodate magnetic ions at specific sites, giving rise to polymetallic clusters with increasing spin nuclearities is discussed. Examples of magnetic clusters with three, four and nine metal ions exhibiting ferromagnetic exchange couplings or a coexistence of ferro- and antiferromagnetic couplings are reported.
Influence of Electromechanical Fields on Dielectric Properties of PLZT−x/65/35 Ceramics (x = 6 and 7)
2011
High density and transparent PLZT−x/65/35 (x = 6 and 7) ceramics with the average grain size of 5–7 μm was obtained by two−stage hot−pressing technology. The measurements of temperature/frequency dependence of the permittivities of these ceramics under uniaxial pressure (0–100 MPa) applied parallel to the ac electric field have been carried out. It was found that uniaxial pressure significantly influences dielectric properties of these ceramics. With the increase of pressure the maximum intensity in ϵ(T) curve decreases, becomes more diffuse and shifts towards higher temperature, dielectric dispersion decreases and classical ferroelectric seems to change to relaxor one. It was concluded, th…
The Ba2LnFeNb4O15 “tetragonal tungsten bronze”: Towards RT composite multiferroics
2009
Several Niobium oxides of formula Ba2LnFeNb4O15 (Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd) with the Tetragonal Tungsten Bronze (TTB) structure have been synthesised by conventional solid-state methods. The Neodymium, Samarium and Europium compounds are ferroelectric with Curie temperature ranging from 320 to 440K. The Praseodymium and Gadolinium compounds behave as relaxors below 170 and 300 K respectively. The Praseodymium, Neodymium, Samarium, Europium and Gadolinium compounds exhibit magnetic hysteresis loops at room temperature originating from traces of a barium ferrite secondary phase. The presence of both ferroelectric and magnetic hysteresis loops at room temperature allows considering these mat…
Ferromagnetic and paramagnetic magnetization of implanted GaN:Ho,Tb,Sm,Tm films
2015
The SQUID magnetic measurements were performed on the GaN films prepared by metal-organic vapour phase epitaxy and implanted by Tb3+, Tm3+, Sm3+, and Ho3+ ions. The sapphire substrate was checked by the electron paramagnetic resonance method which showed a content of Cr3+ and Fe3+ impurities. The samples 5 × 5 mm2 were positioned in the classical straws and within an estimated accuracy of 10−6 emu, no ferromagnetic moment was detected in the temperature region of 2–300 K. The paramagnetic magnetization was studied for parallel and perpendicular orientation. In the case of GaN:Tb sample, at T = 2 K, a pronounced anisotropy with the easy axis perpendicular to the film was observed which can b…

A novel two-dimensional honeycomb-like bimetallic iron(iii)–nickel(ii) cyanide-bridged magnetic material [Ni(cyclam)]3[Fe(CN)6]2·nH2O (cyclam = 1,4,8…
1999
The 2D honeycomb-like layered iron(iii)–nickel(ii) cyanidebridged complex [Ni(cyclam)]3[Fe(CN)6]2·nH2O exhibits ferromagnetic intralayer and antiferromagnetic interlayer interactions; above 3 K the magnetic properties are typical of a metamagnet with Hc = 5000 G, whereas below 3 K a canted structure is formed, leading to a long range ferromagnetic ordering.
