Our research fits in the overall framework of French as a Foreign Language oral teaching methods and focuses will deal with the phenomenon of “foreign accent”, those marks that reveal in transparency the presence of the phonological sieve of the mother tongue, and we will focus on the pronunciation of oral vowels in French by Polish-speaking learners. Arthur Symons’s The Romantic Movement in English Poetry (1909) has elicited scant discussion. Part dictionary of British authors born before 1800, part series of portraits of canonical Romantic poets, The Romantic Movement remains perplexing with its unclear purpose and ungainly format. This article argues that Symons’s monograph should be approached in the turn of the century debate on the definition and value of British Romanticism. As opposed to T. E. Our basic assumption is that all voices are born from listening. We will focus on the pronouncing difficulties of the vowel /y/ by Polish learners of level A1/A2: a preliminary descriptive and comparative study, corroborated by an acoustic study, determined that the phoneme /y/ is often pronounced: 1) too posterior and/or too loose (thus tending towards the /u/); 2) too anterior (tending towards the /i/). However, the vowels /i/ and /u/ exist in Polish and are the closest corresponding sounds to the vowel /y/, absent in the Polish vocal system. Aquesta investigació parteix d’una perspectiva didàctica: com a docents de literatura en una Facultat de Magisteri hem observat la falta de diversitat en els models familiars i afectius de les obres amb què els nostres infants es troben per primera vegada amb el món de la literatura. Igualment, hem observat com diversos estereotips referits al gènere, als rols en l’interior de les famílies, a les ocupacions o a la manera en què el gènere s’expressa a si mateix. En aquest article abordem la producció editorial valenciana per a primers lectors, i analitzem les estructures familiars i el tractament dels rols dels sues membres.
