Liilia Siibergin väitöstyössä osoitetaan, miten suomalaisista on kirjallisuuden kautta Bulgariassa tullut sankareita, joita kohtaan tunnetaan erityistä sympatiaa. Pedagogical translation, subtitles and ICTs: collaborative projects in L2classroom

[EN] With this paper we offer a contribution to the debate on the importance of translation for learning a second language in the classroom. We exemplify its use as a didactic resource and as a learning tool. We show the methodological bases for a proposal consisting of three collaborative translation projects. This projects were carried out in higher education, namely in a Catalan as a Foreign Language (CLE) classroom at the Université de Picardie Jules Verne (France) in face-to-face and virtual scenarios. These practices are grouped into three different didactic sequences that deal with a given discursive genre –a music video, a commercial and a recipe– and that are realized as a teamwork.

Cutaneous dendritic cells (DC) are pivotal for the elicitation of antigen-specific immune responses following gene gun-mediated biolistic transfection of the skin. We transcriptionally targeted transgene expression to DC using vectors containing the murine fascin promoter (pFascin) to control antigen production and compared the immune response elicited with conventional DNA immunization using plasmid constructs with the ubiquitously active CMV promoter (pCMV). A new ion trap facility is described which is dedicated to studies of highly charged ions in a Penning trap. Such a trap will be connected to sources of highly charged ions, in particular the electron beam ion source CRYSIS, at the Manne Siegbahn Institute for Physics. The use of highly charged ions in a Penning trap increases the cyclotron frequency with a factor proportional to the charge which leads to a higher resolution. Also, the possibility to vary the charge state makes it possible to search for and identify different systematic effects. Thus, a substantial increase in accuracy can be expected. AbstractLichens are valuable models in symbiosis research and promising sources of biosynthetic genes for biotechnological applications. Most lichenized fungi grow slowly, resist aposymbiotic cultivation, and are generally poor candidates for experimentation. Obtaining contiguous, high quality genomes for such symbiotic communities is technically challenging. Here we present the first assembly of a lichen holo-genome from metagenomic whole genome shotgun data comprising both PacBio long reads and Illumina short reads.
