The history of African film began in the 1960s with the independence of the colonies. Despite all kinds of political and economic difficulties, numerous films have been made since then, featuring wide-ranging processes of consolidation, differentiation and transformation which were characteristic of post-colonial sub-Saharan Africa. However, these feature films should not merely be viewed as back references to specifically African problems. The glimmering fictions are imagination spaces. Se analizan las competencias de pensamiento histórico de estudiantes españoles de bachillerato y del Máster de Profesorado, y sus narrativas sobre historia de España. Se utilizan métodos cualitativos para identificar: a) su pensamiento histórico, que comprende conocimientos sustantivos y uso de metaconceptos; b) en cuanto a sus narrativas, la gradación cognitiva (taxonomía SOLO) y el sujeto narrativo utilizado. Los resultados muestran que la mayoría de los estudiantes de secundaria no utilizan metaconceptos. Understanding the Context of Teacher Professionalism in Education Systems Undergoing Transition – Kosovo Case

Abstract This qualitative case study examines teacher professionalism in Kosovo in light of its rapidly developing education system. The study involves 14 teachers at the beginning of their careers (1-7 years of experience) examining teacher thinking against the evolving stages of teacher professionalism, namely pre-professionalism, autonomous professionalism, collegial professionalism and post-professionalism. The study reveals that Kosovo teachers reflect strong dominance of pre- professionalism and autonomous professionalism while they demonstrate a weaker reflection of collegial and post- professional aspects of teachers’ work. The introduction of DNA analysis to forensic science brought with it a number of choices for analysis, not all of which were compatible. As laboratories throughout Europe were eager to use the new technology different systems became routine in different laboratories and consequently, there was no basis for the exchange of results. Degradation study of XVIII century graffiti on the walls of Chiaramonte Palace (Palermo, Italy)

A systematic investigation of the original materials and the degradation phenomena induced by soluble salts on the wall matrix and on the graffiti of the Inquisition jails of Chiaramonte Palace in Palermo (Italy) was carried out. Built in the XIV century, Chiaramonte Palace was used as Inquisition court during the XV–XVI centuries. The ancient graffiti, recently discovered, represent a unique historical witness of the prisoners that lived during that terrible period.
