The author undertakes to discuss the problem of matrimonial cheats who have acted on the territory of Poland. The first of the presented cases of seducers is that of Julian Jerzy Kalibabka who was active at the turn of the 1970s and the 1980s – probably the most famous of the Polish matrimonial deceivers. It is his surname which has even been made synonymous with seducers-cheats. Next, the author gives examples of deceivers who were active in the days closer to contemporary time and who – in their dealings – have been able to avail themselves of the possibilities which came along with the advance of the Internet, social media and dating websites. Antioxidant activity and chemical composition of three Tunisian Cistus: Cistus monspeliensis Cistus villosus and Cistus libanotis

The chemical composition of three rockrose Cistus species, Cistus monspeliensis, Cistus libanotis and Cistus villosus, collected in Tunisia, was studied by HPTLC, focusing on the terpenes and phenols constituents. Diterpenes of Cistus are important as the main constituents of the leaf sticky aromatic resin, known as labdanum, which are highly appreciated in perfumery. Polyphenols in the methanolic extracts of each species were identified, quantified as total and as flavonoids and tannins, and tested for antioxidant activity. A small library of compounds with an oxa(thia)zole scaffold and structural diversity in both positions 2 and 5 has been synthesized. Double acylation of a protected glycine affords intermediate alpha-amido-beta-ketoesters, which in turn can be dehydrated to afford 1,3-oxazoles or reacted with Lawesson's reagent to furnish 1,3-thiazoles. This procedure was designed with its adaptation to fluorous techniques in mind. Thus, when a protected glycine with a fluorous tag in the ester moiety is used as a starting material, the synthesis can be easily completed without column chromatography purification of intermediate compounds with good to excellent yields, thus affording a suitable entry to the …

A new species of <em>Metapyroppia</em> Woolley, 1969 (Acari, Oribatida, Peloppiidae) from Nepal

A new species of oribatid mites of the family Peloppiidae, Metapyroppia gigantea n. sp. , is described from Nepal. The genus Metapyroppia is recorded for the first time from the Oriental region. Metapyroppia gigantea n. sp. differs from the type species, Metapyroppia doratosa Woolley, 1969, by the absence of notogastral setae c 2 and c 3 , presence of pointed rostrum and the adanal lyrifissures distanced from the anal plates. El presente artículo trata sobre algunos aspectos del mecenazgo llevado a cabo por los Condes de Aranda en la ciudad de Épila (Zaragoza). Se abordan temas relacionados con la fundación del Monasterio de la Purísima Concepción y la participación del pintor Juan Ribalta (Madrid, ca. 1596 – Valencia, 1629) en la decoración del retablo mayor. Del mismo modo, también se aborda el estudio del importante conjunto de pinturas de temática franciscana que allí se conservan, el último gran encargo realizado por Juan Ribalta antes de su prematura muerte.
