Mūsdienās tuberkuloze ir viena no biežākajiem pacientu nāves cēloņiem pasaulē. Tuberkulozi vairākumā gadījumu izraisa M.tuberculosis. Bakalaura darbā tika analizēta literatūra, lai saprastu M.tuberculosis rezistences mehānismus pret prettuberkulozes līdzekļiem. Praktiskajai daļai tika izmantota BACTEC MGIT sistēma M.tuberculosis rezistences noteikšanai, un arī tika izmantoti rezultāti, kas iegūti SIA „RAKUS” Tuberkulozes un plaušu slimību centra Mikobakterioloģijas laboratorijā un apkopoti laboratorijas informācijas sistēmā (LIS). Intratympanale Intervalltherapie des Morbus Meni�re mit Gentamicin unter Erhalt der Kochleafunktion

Patienten und Methode Zwischen 1997 und 2000 haben wir 57 Patienten intratympanal einseitig mit Gentamicininjektionen (jeweils 0,3 ml = 12 mg) therapiert. Eine Therapieserie bestand maximal aus je einer Injektion an Tag 1, 8 und 15. Intratympanal injiziertes Gentamicin akkumuliert langsam (Durchschnitt unseres Krankenguts: 4,6 Tage) im Innenohr. Die Intervalltherapie vermeidet uberhohte Gentamicinkonzentrationen. Sobald Zeichen einer Innenohrreaktion auftreten (Nystagmus, Unsicherheit, Schwindel), hat die Therapie gewirkt und darf keinesfalls weitergefuhrt werden.

Background & Aims Recent findings in hepatitis C virus (HCV)-monoinfected patients have shown a correlation between low serum levels of 25-OH vitamin D3 [25(OH)D3] and severe liver fibrosis and low sustained virologic response to therapy. Data are lacking in HIV-HCV coinfected patients. Methods One hundred and eighty nine HIV-HCV coinfected patients, who received ⩾80% of interferon (IFN) plus ribavirin therapy, were analyzed for baseline serum 25(OH)D3 levels. Staphylococcus epidermidis ir komensāls oportūnists, kas ir plaši sastopams kā daļa no ādas normālās mikrofloras. Bieži tas kā kontaminants nokļūst uz protēžu vai katetru virsmas un veicina noturīgu infekciju attīstību. Pateicoties S. epidermids biofilmu veidojošai īpašībai 80% grūti ārstējamu infekciju gadījumos novērojama to klātbūtne. Meticilīna rezistence ir plaši izplatīta pateicoties mecA gēna klātbūtnei. Svarīgi izprast rezistences mehānismus un biofilmu dabu, lai tās varētu laboratoriski noteikt un atrastu veidu, kā cīnīties ar sarežģītām infekcijām. Polymeric micelles potentially able to carry to hepatocytes a ribavirin (RBV) prodrug, exploiting the presence of carbohydrate receptors, that is, ASGPR, were prepared starting from a galactosylated polylactide-polyaminoacid conjugate. Grifola frondosa (Dicks.) Gray (Meripilaceae) is a big size, perennial, infrequent lignicolous basidiomycetes, traditionally known as Maitake. Brown or grayish overlapped caps, with a wavy margin, characterize the sporophore. In the wild, it is usually found at the base of living oak trees but it is also cultivated. Probiotic administration improves sperm quality in asthenozoospermic human donors

The objective of this study is to analyse the effect of the ingestion of two selected antioxidant probiotics strains (Lactobacillus rhamnosus CECT8361 and Bifidobacterium longum CECT7347) on sperm quality parameters in asthenozoospermic males after three and six weeks of administration. Nine asthenozoospermic men without any medical treatment under similar diet conditions participated in the study.
