Apuntes para una iconografía del milenio de Los Andes

1993

EN LA CORRIENTE MILENARISTA QUE, SEGUN ALGUNAS LINEAS HISTORIOGRAFICAS SE DIFUNDIO EN LA AMERICA COLONIAL DE LOS SIGLOS XVII Y XVIII SE INSCRIBIRIAN, QUIZAS, ALGUNAS PINTURAS RECIENTEMENTE RESTAURADAS. SE TRATA DE LA "LUCHA DE SAN MIGUEL Y LOS ANGELES CONTRA LAS HUESTES DEL DEMONIO", CONSERVADA EN EL CONVENTO DE SAN FRANCISCO DE LA CIUDAD DE CORDOBA (ARGENTINA) Y DE LA SERIE DE DOCE PATRIARCAS, REYES Y PROFETAS DE ISRAEL DE LA IGLESIA DE HUMAHUACA EN JUJUY (ARGENTINA) (ABC/LAG).

Controlling protein interactions in blood for effective liver immunosuppressive therapy by silica nanocapsules

2020

Immunosuppression with glucocorticoids is a common treatment for autoimmune liver diseases and after liver transplant, which is however associated with severe side-effects. Targeted delivery of glucocorticoids to inflammatory cells, e.g. liver macrophages and Kupffer cells, is a promising approach for minimizing side effects. Herein, we prepare core–shell silica nanocapsules (SiO2 NCs) via a sol–gel process confined in nanodroplets for targeted delivery of dexamethasone (DXM) for liver immunosuppressive therapy. DXM with concentrations up to 100 mg mL−1 in olive oil are encapsulated while encapsulation efficiency remains over 95% after 15 days. Internalization of NCs by non-parenchymal muri…

Approximation and quasicontinuity of Besov and Triebel–Lizorkin functions

2016

We show that, for $0<s<1$, $0<p<\infty$, $0<q<\infty$, Haj\l asz-Besov and Haj\l asz-Triebel-Lizorkin functions can be approximated in the norm by discrete median convolutions. This allows us to show that, for these functions, the limit of medians, \[ \lim_{r\to 0}m_u^\gamma(B(x,r))=u^*(x), \] exists quasieverywhere and defines a quasicontinuous representative of $u$. The above limit exists quasieverywhere also for Haj\l asz functions $u\in M^{s,p}$, $0<s\le 1$, $0<p<\infty$, but approximation of $u$ in $M^{s,p}$ by discrete (median) convolutions is not in general possible.

Facile synthesis and characterization of functionalized, monocrystalline rutile TiO2 nanorods.

2006

Functionalized, monocrystalline rutile TiO2 nanorods were prepared from TiCl4 in aqueous solution under acidic conditions in the presence of dopamine, followed by aging and hydrothermal treatment at 150 degrees C. The surface-bound organic ligand controls the morphology as well as the crystallinity and the phase selection of TiO2. The presence of monocrystalline rutile TiO2 was confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction and HRTEM investigations. The as-prepared nanorods are soluble in water at pH3. The surface functionalization was analyzed by IR and 1H NMR, confirming the presence of dopamine on the surface. The surface amine groups can be tailored further with functional molecules such as dyes…

Triple-Quantum Two-Dimensional 27Al Magic Angle Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Study of the Aluminum Incorporation in Calcium Silicate Hydrates

1998

Triple-quantum two-dimensional 27Al magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (27Al 3Q-MAS NMR) was used to characterize the substitution of Si4+ by Al3+ into the Te−Oc−Te structure of calcium silicate hydrates (C−S−H). This substitution was studied with C−S−H having an Oc/Te ratio of 1 and in equilibrium with Al(OH)3 in aqueous suspensions. In the absence of NaOH, no substitution into the C−S−H structure occurred. Addition of NaOH in the preparation increased the concentration of Al(OH)4- and favored substitution. The deficit of charge resulting from this substitution was compensated by the accommodation of sodium in the interlayer space of the C−S−H. Increasing levels of substituted…

ZnO nanorod arrays fabrication via chemical bath deposition: Ligand concentration effect study

2010

A new ligand, N, N, N', N'-tetramethylethylenediamine, has been used to grow ZnO nanorods on silicon substrates via a two steps approach. A preliminary seeding on silicon substrates has been combined with chemical bath deposition using a Zinc acetate - N, N, N', N'-tetramethylethylenediamine aqueous solution. The used diamino ligand has been selected as Zn(2+) complexing agent and the related hydrolysis generates the reacting ions (Zn(2-) and OH(-)) responsible for the ZnO growth. The seed layer has been annealed at low temperature (<200 degrees C) and the ZnO nanorods have been grown on this ZnO amorphous layer. There is experimental evidence that the ligand concentration (ranging from 5 t…
