H2-M, a facilitator of MHC class II peptide loading, and its negative modulator H2-O are differentially expressed in response to proinflammatory cyto…
2000
H2-M is a major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II-like molecule that catalyzes peptide binding to MHC class II molecules. Recently, the H2-O heterodimer, encoded by H2-Oa and H2-Ob in the MHC class II region, has been shown to be physically associated with H2-M in B cells and to downregulate H2-M function. Examination of H2-O expression in freshly isolated mouse organs revealed that H2-Oa- and H2-Ob-specific transcripts are present in both lymphoid and nonlymphoid tissues. To evaluate the gene regulation and functional impact of H2-O on antigen presentation, we examined the effects on MHCII, invariant chain (Ii), H2-M, and H2-O gene expression of interleukin (IL)-4, IL-10, and inter…
Multiple levels of MHC class I down-regulation by ras oncogenes.
1996
A number of tumours and oncogene transformed cells displayed reduced MHC class I surface expression which seemed to enable their escape from immune surveillance. To test whether oncogenic activation is directly involved in suppressing MHC class I expression, a model of inducible oncogene expression was chosen. Mouse fibroblasts transfected with different oncogenes expressed under the control of the dexamethasone-inducible MMTV promoter were analysed in the presence and absence of hormone for the mRNA and protein expression of MHC class I molecules as well as the respective oncogenes. Immunofluorescence analyses demonstrated an inverse association of MHC class I and oncogene expression after…
Endothelin: an endothelium-derived vasoactive peptide and its possible role in the pathogenesis of cerebral vasospasm
1991
The contractile response to endothelin has been examined in cerebral arteries from rats subjected to a prior subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) and compared with saline injected controls. Endothelin elicited strong concentration-dependent contraction of rat basilar artery segments. The response was slow in onset and long lasting. The endothelin-induced contraction was much stronger in the SAH compared to control animals. Our findings suggest a role of the peptide in the pathophysiology of cerebral vasospasm.

"Haters gonna hate": characterizing hater comments on YouTube thanks to impoliteness theories
2017
International audience; Previous studies have shown that comments on YouTube tend to show a “low degree of neutral stance” (Sindoni, 2014: 203). Comments are often either strongly positive or negative. Negative comments themselves commonly display all forms of aggressive and impolite behaviour (sarcasm, name-calling, hostility, ad personam attacks and a whole variety of other deliberate face-threatening acts). The epitome of this behaviour is the so-called “hater”, a commenter that deliberately posts abusive comments (“you suck”, “”Miranda sings is shit”, “fuck you Miranda sings”), generally unconnected to the content of the video and/or not constructive (see definitions in Lange: 2007). Ev…
Unequal rapidity correlators in the dilute limit of the JIMWLK evolution
2019
We study unequal rapidity correlators in the stochastic Langevin picture of Jalilian-Marian-Iancu-McLerran-Weigert-Leonidov-Kovner (JIMWLK) evolution in the color glass condensate effective field theory. We discuss a diagrammatic interpretation of the long-range con elators. By separately evolving the Wilson lines in the direct and complex conjugate amplitudes, we use the formalism to study two-particle production at large rapidity separations. We show that the evolution between the rapidities of the two produced particles can be expressed as a linear equation, even in the full nonlinear limit. We also show how the Langevin formalism for two-particle correlations reduces to a Balitsky-Fadin…

CONFLICT DYNAMICS IN HEALTHCARE SERVICES: AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY USING THE SYSTEM DYNAMICS METHODOLOGY
