A pesar de la elevada interferencia y malestar producido por el trastorno obsesivo-compulsivo (TOC) se observa una demora en la solicitud de asistencia. Esta demora se asocia principalmente a la falta de conocimiento sobre el trastorno y dónde acudir a a solicitar ayuda (mental health literacy; MHL). Otro factor relevante asociado a la demora es el estigma. Muistisairaan ihmisen kokemukset teknologiasta osana arkea - turvaa vai tunkeilevuutta

Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitettiin muistisairaiden ihmisten arkea tukevan teknologian käyttöönottoa ja heidän sekä heidän läheistensä kokemuksia teknologian käytöstä. Tutkimuksen viitekehyksenä toimi Lawtonin ekologinen malli. Tutkimuksessa käytettiin etnografista näkökulmaa haastattelemalla ja havainnoimalla muistisairaita ihmisiä teknologian käyttötilanteissa. Ensimmäinen vaihe toteutettiin vuosina 2004-2007. Ensimmäisessä vaiheessa kohderyhmänä olivat 25 muistisairautta sairastavaa kotona yksin tai omaishoitajansa kanssa asuvaa henkilöä sekä heidän läheistään ja viisi vastaajaa kuntien kotihoidosta. This chapter is dedicated to the twentieth century, where pedagogy underwent a profound transformation becoming a science capable of critically reflecting on education and taking on the characteristics of a specific, complex and more articulated knowledge. Thanks to this brief history of contemporary pedagogical epistemology, it is explained why pedagogy needed to create new paradigms of scientific research.

Cannabis use undergoes a dynamic redefinition under selected legal frameworks globally. Many prevention programs face a dilemma between delivering abstinence objectives and pursuing more nuanced, harm reductionist aims. However, drug use in South-East Turkey is strongly stigmatized and is absent from the official life of the community, so neither of these discussions takes place. The stigma of feminism: disclosures and silences regarding female disadvantage in the video game industry in US and Finnish media stories

This article examines how the issue of gender, particularly women’s (under)representation in the video game industry, is framed in US and Finnish media. Building on the notion of stigma surrounding feminism, the article examines discourse practices as acts of managing the image of feminism. The findings illustrate five stigma management strategies that offer the possibility of maintaining socially accepted ways of discussing gender inequality and portraying women in mainstream media. Evaluation of a new nomogram for Ferrara ring segment implantation in keratoconus

AIM: To evaluate the short-term clinical outcomes of Ferrara rings in keratoconus using an optimized nomogram developed after several years of research and retrospective analysis of clinical data. METHODS: This prospective longitudinal non-comparative clinical trial evaluated 88 eyes of 88 patients (age 18-62y) with keratoconus diagnosis from two Spanish centers. Ferrara ring segment (AJL Ophthalmic) implantation was performed in all cases, using the mechanical procedure in 25 eyes (28.4%) and a femtosecond laser-assisted procedure in 63 eyes (71.6%).
