Density, Viscosity, and Sound Speed of Bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide-Based Ionic Liquids + 1-Propanol Mixtures
2015
The density, viscosity, and speed of sound of three mixtures formed by 1-propanol and an ionic liquid were measured in a temperature range of 278.15–338.15 K. All measurements were made at atmospheric pressure and covered the entire range of miscible compositions. The three ionic liquids have the same anion but differ in the cation: 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [emim][NTf2], 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [bmim][NTf2], and 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [hmim][NTf2]. The experimental data allowed calculate the molar volume and isentropic compressibility of the mixture and their respective exces…
Atomic layer deposition of polyimide thin films
2007
The atomic layer deposition (ALD) of different polyimide thin films has been studied. We have demonstrated self-limiting ALD deposition of PMDA–DAH, PMDA–EDA, PMDA–ODA and PMDA–PDA thin films at 160 °C. The maximum deposition rate of 5.8 A cycle−1 was obtained for the PMDA–DAH process. Although the deposition rate was high at 160 °C, a sudden decrease was observed when the temperature was increased. Regardless of the process studied, no film growth was obtained at 200 °C or above. Deposited polyimide films were analysed by FTIR, AFM and TOF-ERDA. According to the FTIR measurements, imide bonds were formed already in as-deposited films indicating polyimide formation without any additional th…
New cycloaddition reactions of 1-phenyl-4-vinylpyrazole
1986
Abstract 1-Phenyl-4-vinylpyrazole reacts with methyl propiolate and N-phenylmaleimide giving via the Diels-Alder 1:1 adducts, products (4) and (8), and also the 1:2 adducts (5), (6) and (9) resulting from an “ene” reaction of the initially forced cycloadducts. The obtention of the adducts (5) and (6) in equimolecular amounts is a good example of the non-regioselective character of the “ene” reaction. The reaction with tetracyanoethylene takes place through the olefinic substituent giving the π2 + π2 adduct (10).
ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis of Bis(indolylmaleimide) Macrocycles
2000
The synthesis of a novel class of macrocyclic bis(indolylmaleimides) is reported. The key step involves the intermolecular connection of 2,2′-bridged indoles with 3,4-dibromo-2,5-dihydro-1H-2,5-pyrroledione (dibromomaleimide) derivatives. The bis(indolylmaleimides) afforded by this method were further processed by intramolecular nucleophilic substitution of the remaining bromo substituents forming flexible N-substituted macrocycles (9a-9j, 10a-10e) and, by connecting both maleimides, semi rigid macrocycles (7a-7xx).

Multiple, alternative cleavage patterns precede uniform larval morphology during normal development of Dreissena polymorpha (Mollusca, Lamellibranchi…
1995
In this study we reinvestigate the early development of the freshwater mussel Dreissena polymorpha, previously studied by Meisenheimer (1901). The data include video time-lapse recordings of living embryos and bisbenzimide stains of fixed embryos as well as morphometry on fixed, serially-sectioned embryos. We present the cell lineage and cell cycle durations up to the first indication of symmetrization within this embryo. We show that early cell cycles last approximately 1h. A dramatic extension of cell cycle duration and a concomitant asynchrony among the various cell lines was observed starting at the fifth cleavage. Short cell cycles, like those of early blastomeres, were a constant prop…
Retrograde transport of sodium selenite and intracellular injection of micro-ruby: a combined method to describe the morphology of zinc-rich neurones.
2003
Abstract Zinc is found in synaptic vesicles in a large number of glutamatergic systems. Its involvement in neurotransmission and neurological disorders has been suggested. There are methods for tracing these circuits, but they do not fill the dendritic tree. In this study, extracellular selenite injections in vivo were combined with intracellular injection of fluorochromes in fixed tissue to reveal the morphology of these zinc-rich neurones. Intraperitoneal and intracerebral injections of sodium selenite alone or intracerebral injections of selenite combined with bisbenzimide were made in the visual cortex of the rat in order to locate the somata of zinc-rich neurones. After 24 h of retrogr…
Structure-activity relationship of staurosporine analogs in regulating expression of endothelial nitric-oxide synthase gene.
2000
In human umbilical vein endothelial cells and in human umbilical vein endothelial cell-derived EA.hy 926 cells, staurosporine (Stsp) and its glycosidic indolocarbazole analogs 7-hydroxystaurosporine (UCN-01) and 4'-N-benzoyl staurosporine (CGP 41251) enhanced nitric-oxide synthase (NOS) III mRNA expression (analyzed by RNase protection assay), protein expression (determined by Western blot), and activity [measured by rat fetal lung fibroblast (RFL-6) reporter cell assay] in a concentration- and time-dependent manner. In contrast, the bisindolylmaleimide analogs GF 109203X, Ro 31-8220 and Go 6983 had no effect on NOS III expression, and Go 6976, a methyl- and cyanoalkyl-substituted nonglycos…
CD36 is involved in lycopene and lutein uptake by adipocytes and adipose tissue cultures
2011
International audience; Scope: Carotenoids are mainly stored in adipose tissue. However, nothing is known regarding the uptake of carotenoids by adipocytes. Thus, our study explored the mechanism by which lycopene and lutein, two major human plasma carotenoids, are transported. Methods and results: CD36 was a putative candidate for this uptake, 3T3-L1 cells were treated with sulfosuccinimidyl oleate, a CD36-specific inhibitor. sulfosuccinimidyl oleate-treated cells showed a significant decrease in both lycopene and lutein uptake as compared to control cells. Their uptake was also decreased by partial inhibition of CD36 expression using siRNA, whereas the overexpression of CD36 in Cos-1 cell…
Link between Intestinal CD36 Ligand Binding and Satiety Induced by a High Protein Diet in Mice
2012
International audience; CD36 is a ubiquitous membrane glycoprotein that binds long-chain fatty acids. The presence of a functional CD36 is required for the induction of satiety by a lipid load and its role as a lipid receptor driving cellular signal has recently been demonstrated. Our project aimed to further explore the role of intestinal CD36 in the regulation of food intake. Duodenal infusions of vehicle or sulfo-N-succinimidyl-oleate (SSO) was performed prior to acute infusions of saline or Intralipid (IL) in mice. Infusion of minute quantities of IL induced a decrease in food intake (FI) compared to saline. Infusion of SSO had the same effect but no additive inhibitory effect was obser…
