Comment gérer des expériences touristiquesextraordinaires ?Analyse et recommandations à partir d’une immersiondans les parcs à thème
2011
The designers and managers of theme parks seek first of allto encourage the visitor's immersion in the heart of an ex-traordinary experience. Nevertheless, access to this type ofconsumption experience is not systematic and the visitor'simmersion does not seem permanent. In this article, we of-fer a better understanding of the park experience. Buildingon the analysis of 41 introspective diaries of theme parkvisitors, we identify states of immersion but also other ex-perienced states (submersion, emersion, reject). On a ma-nagerial plan, this approach offers understanding keys toparks managers and more globally to managers of touristsites offering extraordinary experiences.

Being Carried Away : Fink and Winnicott on the Locus of Playing
2021
Abstract The article investigates the question of the experiential location of the area of play, comparing the accounts of Eugen Fink and Donald Winnicott. It argues that while Fink builds on the phenomenological distinction between subjective phantasy and external perception, and accordingly introduces the area of play as a hybrid realm, a peculiar combination of the two, Winnicott considers the area of play as something that underlies and developmentally precedes the experiential differentiation between phantasy and external reality. While from Fink’s viewpoint Winnicott’s model neglects a central phenomenological distinction, from Winnicott’s viewpoint Fink’s account, in turn, appears ad…
Groove as a multidimensional participatory experience
2023
Groove is a popular and widely used concept in the field of music. Yet, its precise definition remains elusive. Upon closer inspection, groove appears to be used as an umbrella term with various connotations depending on the musical era, the musical context, and the individual using the term. Our aim in this article was to explore different definitions and connotations of the term groove so as to reach a more detailed understanding of it. Consequently, in an online survey, 88 participants provided free-text descriptions of the term groove. A thematic analysis revealed that groove is a multifaceted phenomenon, and participants’ descriptions fit into two main categories: music- and experience…

Psychological triggers in video games
2016
Peliteollisuudesta on hyvää vauhtia tulossa liikevaihdoltaan suurin viihdeteollisuuden haara ikinä. Tutkielmassa tuodaan esille erilaisia tapoja joilla saadaan flown ja immersion tunteet her…
Telepresence and Sexuality: A Review and a Call to Scholars
2013
Scholars have examined the phenomenon of telepresence, a perceptual illusion of nonmediation experienced by media users, in a wide variety of contexts. This paper explores telepresence theory and research in the rarely examined but important context of sexually arousing media content. After defining key concepts, the paper presents reasons scholars should study telepresence in the context of sexuality, reviews the evolution of relevant media technologies and the nature of relevant telepresence responses, and considers potential theoretical contributions and avenues for future research in interpersonal communication, media studies, and presence scholarship. peerReviewed

Effects of water immersion on soleus neuromuscular parameters
2017
Aquatic rehabilitation is a widely used tool for injury prevention or rehabilitation. The underlying neuromuscular mechanisms during immersion are less known due to methodological issues. The following study main purpose to assess neuromuscular functions and muscle architecture changes within immersed condition. The physical properties of water to the human body are well understood, as well as its effect on the cardiorespiratory system. While the Hoffmann reflex, as a tool to assess neuromuscular changes on dry land is widely examined, it has been rarely used during immersion. The effect of water immersion on muscle behavior is also unknown. In this study control values were recorded in sit…
Comparative study of initial stages of copper immersion deposition on bulk and porous silicon
2013
Initial stages of Cu immersion deposition in the presence of hydrofluoric acid on bulk and porous silicon were studied. Cu was found to deposit both on bulk and porous silicon as a layer of nanoparticles which grew according to the Volmer-Weber mechanism. It was revealed that at the initial stages of immersion deposition, Cu nanoparticles consisted of crystals with a maximum size of 10 nm and inherited the orientation of the original silicon substrate. Deposited Cu nanoparticles were found to be partially oxidized to Cu2O while CuO was not detected for all samples. In contrast to porous silicon, the crystal orientation of the original silicon substrate significantly affected the sizes, dens…
