Objectives: We utilized the database of the Defining Antibiotic Levels in Intensive care unit patients (DALI) study to statistically compare the pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic and clinical outcomes between prolonged- infusion and intermittent-bolus dosing of piperacillin/tazobactam and meropenem in critically ill patients using inclusion criteria similar to those used in previous prospective studies. Synthetic mRNAs with Superior Translation and Stability Properties

The translational efficiency and stability of synthetic mRNA in both cultured cells and whole animals can be improved by incorporation of modified cap structures at the 5'-end. mRNAs are synthesized in vitro by a phage RNA polymerase transcribing a plasmid containing the mRNA sequence in the presence of all four NTPs plus a cap dinucleotide. Modifications in the cap dinucleotide at the 2'- or 3'-positions of m(7)Guo, or modifications in the polyphosphate chain, can improve both translational efficiency and stability of the mRNA, thereby increasing the amount and duration of protein expression. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt kynismos Lūkiāna satīriskajos dialogos. Lai sasniegtu pētījuma mērķi tika izvirzīti vairāki uzdevumi: iepazīties ar tēmai būtisko zinātnisko literatūru, atlasīt Lūkiāna satīriskos dialogus, kā arī veikt to tulkošanu, kuras gaitā klasificēt un analizēt pētījumam nozīmīgos elementus, nobeigumā formulēt secinājumus par kynismos izpausmēm Lūkiāna dialogos. Pētījuma gaitā veikta Lūkiāna dialogu Menips, Ikaromenips, Nopratinātais Zevs un dialogu cikla Mirušo sarunas analīze. Cuticular hydrocarbon profiles in Blattella germanica: effects of halofenozide, boric acid and benfuracarb

1379-1176 (Print) Journal Article; In order to complete previous studies conducted on Blattella germanica, three insecticides from different groups were evaluated: boric acid, an inorganic compound, benfuracarb, a carbamate, and halofenozide, a non-steroidal ecdysone agonist. Boric acid (8.20%, LD50) and benfuracarb (2%, LD50) were incorporated into the diet and orally administrated to newly emerged adults of both sexes, while halofenozide (0.33%, LD50) was applied topically. Hydrocarbons extracts was made on bidistilled pentane from control and treated series sampled 6 days following treatment. Extracts was analyzed by gas chromatography. Darbā analizēta arī bibliotēkas kā vietas ietekme uz tās izmantojumu. [EN] Cucurbita pepo contains two cultivated subspecies, each of which encompasses four fruit-shape morphotypes (cultivar groups). The Pumpkin, Vegetable Marrow, Cocozelle, and Zucchini Groups are of subsp. pepo and the Acorn, Crookneck, Scallop, and Straightneck Groups are of subsp. ovifera. Recently, a de novo assembly of the C. pepo subsp. pepo Zucchini genome was published, providing insights into its evolution. Background: Scientific data provide the evidence that secondary K-RAS mutations do not occur during anti-epidermal growth factor receptor therapy in colorectal cancer patients. This multicenter phase II prospective study aims to investigate the activity of a retreatment with a cetuximab-based therapy.
