A preliminary study on the stability of benzodiazepines in blood and plasma stored at 4 degrees C.

An approach to determine the stability of benzodiazepines and some of their metabolites (n = 13) by means of a routinely applied gas chromatographic method using electron capture detection was made in this preliminary study. Validation data of the method are given. Spiked blood and plasma samples were stored at 4 degrees C and analysed at selected times up to 240 days. The concentrations of all analytes had decreased to at least 60% of the original levels at the end of the observation period. A clear pattern of breakdown could not be established. Micellar liquid chromatography determination of rivaroxaban in plasma and urine. Validation and theoretical aspects.

A Micellar Chromatographic method to determine rivaroxaban in plasma and urine has been developed. The samples were dissolved in the mobile phase (SDS 0.05 M – 1-propanol 12.5%, phosphate buffered at pH 7) and 20 μL directly injected, avoiding the extraction and purification steps. Using a C18 column and running under isocratic mode at 1 mL/min, analyte was eluted without interference from the matrix in <6.0 min. The detection absorbance wavelength was set to 250 nm. Development of the H-point standard additions method for analyte determinations in unknown matrix

Abstract The development of the H-point standard additions method is proposed in order to obtain the unbiased analyte concentration when the matrix of the sample is completely unknown. A spectral region where the interferent behaviour can be considered linear at three wavelengths must be chosen. Abstract We propose a mathematical model from an analytical application viewpoint inspired in the limit dilution method. The theoretical development of the model and its results are given. The model shows that there is a linear relation between the inverse of fluorescence intensity and the inverse of the dilution factor; each analytic system (sample, diluent and analyte) is characterised by a general linear function which is easily obtained. The analytical applications arising from this linearity are of great importance in X-ray fluorescence analysis. Effect of sodium to barium substitution on the space charge implementation in thermally poled glasses for nonlinear optical applications

Thermally poled niobium borophosphate glasses in the system 0.55(0.95-y) NaPO{sub 3}+y/2 Ba(PO{sub 3}){sub 2}+0.05Na{sub 2}B{sub 4}O{sub 7})+0.45Nb{sub 2}O{sub 5} were investigated for second order optical nonlinear (SON) properties. Bulk glasses were studied by Raman spectroscopy, thermal analysis, optical and dielectric measurements. The sodium to barium substitution does not lead to significant changes in optical properties, crystallization of glasses and coordination environment of polarizable niobium atoms. Cubic smoothing splines background correction in on-line liquid chromatography–Fourier transform infrared spectrometry

A background correction method for the on-line coupling of gradient liquid chromatography and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (LC-FTIR) is proposed. The developed approach applies univariate background correction to each variable (i.e. each wave number) individually. Symmetry and models of single-walled TiO2 nanotubes with rectangular morphology

Abstract The formalism of line symmetry groups for one-periodic (1D) nanostructures with rotohelical symmetry has been applied for symmetry analysis of single-walled titania nanotubes (SW TiO2 NTs) formed by rolling up the stoichiometric two-periodic (2D) slabs of anatase structure. Either six- or twelve-layer (101) slabs have been cut from TiO2 crystal in a stable anatase phase. After structural optimization, the latter keeps the centered rectangular symmetry of initial slab slightly compressed along a direction coincided with large sides of elemental rectangles.
