We establish a Haar-Rado type theorem: If the boundary values $$u_0$$ u 0 admit a modulus of continuity $$\omega $$ ω and the estimate $$|u(x,t)-u_0(\gamma )| \le \omega (|x-\gamma |)$$ | u ( x , t ) - u 0 ( γ ) | ≤ ω ( | x - γ | ) holds, then u admits the same modulus of continuity in the spatial variable.

Assuming the coefficients $$a_{ij}$$ a ij in $$W^{1,n}(\Omega )$$ W 1 , n ( Ω ) with a modulus of continuity satisfying a certain Dini-type continuity condition, we prove that any very weak solution $$u\in L^{n'}_\mathrm{loc}(\Omega )$$ u ∈ L loc n ′ ( Ω ) of (0.1) is actually a weak solution in $$W^{1,2}_\mathrm{loc}(\Omega )$$ W loc 1 , 2 ( Ω ) .

Abstract Let p ≠ 3 , 5 be a prime. We prove that Sylow p-subgroups of a finite group G are abelian if and only if the class sizes of the p-elements of G are all coprime to p. This gives a solution to a problem posed by R. Brauer in 1956 (for p ≠ 3 , 5 ).

A subgroup H of a finite group G is a partial CAP-subgroup of G if there is a chief series of G such that H either covers or avoids its chief factors. We give a complete classification of the finite groups with a unique subgroup of order p for each prime p dividing its order. All the groups considered in this paper will be finite. The pomegranate (Punica granatum) is an ancient perennial plant species of the Punicaceae family. Its seeds are consumed as food or as juice. Previous studies have noted that pomegranate juice encompasses many active compounds with beneficial effects. The main goals of this work were to study the phenolic components of freeze-dried and reconstituted pomegranate juices obtained from 13 pomegranate genotypes growing in Morocco.We analyzed several pomegranate juices using high-performance liquid chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry to determine phenolic compounds. Do the Mega and Titan Tests Yield Accurate Results? An Investigation into Two Experimental Intelligence Tests

The Mega and Titan Tests were designed by Ronald K. Hoeflin to make fine distinctions in the intellectual stratosphere. The Mega Test purported to measure above-average adult IQ up to and including scores with a rarity of one in a million of the general population. The Titan Test was billed as being even more difficult than the Mega Test. In this article, these claims are subjected to scrutiny. Both tests are renormed using the normal curve of distribution. It is found that the Mega Test has a higher ceiling and a lower floor than the Titan Test.
