Electrochemical oxidation of tetramethoxy precursor as a key step for the synthesis of coenzyme Q10
2007
The feasibility of electrosynthesis of coenzyme Q10 (1) by electrooxidation of tetramethoxy precursor (2) has been investigated at carbon, Pt and BDD anodes in a divided cell. The process strongly depends on the applied potential, anode material and water content of the solvent. At carbon anodes in CH3CN/CH2Cl2 + 0.15 M Bu4NBF4 at proper operative conditions high faradic efficiency (>60%) and excellent selectivity (95–97%) of the target product were obtained. Keywords: Electrosynthesis, Coenzyme Q10, Anodic oxidation
Production of halogenated compounds by Bjerkandera adusta.
1994
International audience; The white-rot fungusBjerkandera adusta produces volatile chlorinated phenyl compounds. The main compounds identified were 3-chloro-4-methoxybenzaldehyde (3-chloro-p-anisaldehyde), 3-chloro-4-methoxybenzyl alcohol (3-chloro-p-anisyl alcohol), 3,5-dichloro-4-methoxybenzaldehyde (3,5-dichloro-p-anisaldehyde), and 3,5-dichloro, 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol (3,5-dichloro-p-anisyl alcohol).p-Anisaldehyde, veratraldehyde and the corresponding alcohols,p-anisyl alcohol and veratryl alcohol were produced simultaneously. Even with a very low concentration of chloride in the medium (<>–5 m), chlorinated aromatic compounds were still observed. Addition of bromide to the culture mediu…

Thermophysical properties of binary mixtures of 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium trifluoromethanesulfonate ionic liquid with alcohols at several tempera…
2018
Abstract Densities, speeds of sound, and refractive indices for the binary systems made up by 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium trifluoromethanesulfonate and methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, or 2-propanol, as well as for the pure components, have been measured covering the whole range of compositions at atmospheric pressure and T = (278.15–338.15) K. From densities and speeds of sound, isentropic compressibilities were calculated using the Newton-Laplace equation. Liquid ideal-mixture properties have been defined and calculated, and they have been used to determine excess molar volumes, excess isentropic compressibilities, and deviations in refractive indices. Excess and deviations in properties …
Volumetric and Ultrasonic Studies of 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium Trifluoromethanesulfonate Ionic Liquid with Methanol, Ethanol, 1-Propanol, and Water…
2007
The speed of sound and density of mixtures of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoromethanesulfonate ([emim][triflate]) with methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, and water, as well as of the pure components have been experimentally measured over the whole range of compositions at T = (278.15 to 338.15) K and atmospheric pressure. From these experimental data, the excess molar volume, excess isentropic compressibility, and excess speed of sound have been calculated and fitted to an extended version of the Redlich−Kister equation, which takes into account the dependence on composition and temperature simultaneously. The Prigogine−Flory−Patterson theory has also been used to explain the behavior of t…

2009
Densities, speeds of sound, and refractive indices of the binary mixtures of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoromethanesulfonate ([emim][triflate]) with acetone, methyl acetate, and ethyl acetate were experimentally measured over the whole range of compositions at T = (278.15 to 328.15) K and a pressure of 0.1 MPa. From these experimental data, excess molar volumes, excess isentropic compressibilities, molar refractions, and deviations in refractive indices have been calculated and fitted to an extended version of the Redlich−Kister equation, which takes into account the dependence on composition and temperature simultaneously. The Prigogine−Flory−Patterson theory has been used to specula…
Non-ionic photo-acid generators for applications in two-photon lithography
2009
Non-ionic photoacid generators (PAGs) have been designed and synthesized for use in two-photon lithography (TPL). The chromophores in these new PAGs are covalently linked to the photocleavable group by a flexible joint. Their thermal stability, solubility and efficiency to produce acid under both one- and two-photon excitation were characterized. The potential of these PAGs for TPL was tested in two negative-tone resist systems relying on different mechanisms: free-radical/cationic polymerization or a cationically initiated cross-linking reaction. These PAGs needed lower threshold power for polymerization compared to a commercially available photoinitiator, isopropylthioxanthone, and a phot…
Measurement of rotational relaxation in the ground state of methane perturbed by argon at low temperature
1999
International audience; Relaxation processes at low temperature in methane perturbed by argon have been investigated on the basis of new measurements. Diode laser absorption spectra of methane in the region of the dyad nu2/nu4 in supersonic expansions have been recorded. The time of relaxation of the ground state mean rotational energy was derived from the observed dependences of the rotational temperature on the concentration in the jet. A semi-classical model was used to calculate the state-to-state relaxation rate constants at room temperature. The evaluation of the time of relaxation of the mean rotational energy using semi-empirical temperature dependence laws is presented and discusse…
Enantioselective addition of nitromethane to α-keto esters catalyzed by copper(ii)–iminopyridine complexes
2008
The copper complex of a chiral iminopyridine easily prepared from (R)-(-)-fenchone and picolylamine catalyzes the enantioselective Henry (nitroaldol) reaction between nitromethane and alpha-keto esters. Good yields and modest to good enantioselectivities are obtained for a wide range of alpha-keto esters, bearing aromatic, alkyl or alkenyl groups attached to the ketone carbonyl group.
Novel Lipophilic Lanthanide Bis-Phthalocyanines Functionalized by Pentadecylphenoxy Groups: Synthesis, Characterization and UV-Photostability
2012
Novel sandwich-type phthalocyanines containing a rare earth metal core (Pr, Nd, Eu-Lu) and macrocycles peripherally substituted by pentadecylphenoxy groups were synthesized using a cardanol-based phthalonitrile precursor and the respective lanthanide acetate. Additionally, the metal free-base analog compound was studied for comparison. The purified reaction products were all found to be thick and viscous substances at room temperature, showing liquid crystalline behavior with a distinct increase in fluidity at ca. 40 ° C. The complexes are readily soluble in chloroalkyl solvents and dissolve fairly well in DMF with some tendency to form aggregates. Besides they are strongly hydrophobic and …
