Visual kei žanra pretrunas Japānas populārajā kultūrā un mūzikā mūsdienās
2019
To rak…
(Table 1) Geochemistry of ODP Site 160-963 sediments
2010
The Mediterranean Sea acts as a miniature ocean with the development of its own conveyor belt. It constitutes an ideal location to study and forecast how the marine environment responds to rapid climatic change. Here we present a palaeoenvironmental study carried out on the sediments of ODP Site 963, recovered in the Sicily Channel, the sill which divides the western from the eastern Mediterranean basin. We focused on the transition between the penultimate glacial (MIS 6) and the last interglacial (MIS 5), between approximately 130 and 115 kyr BP. A novel approach is proposed, taking into account centennial-scale geochemical data on major elements, selected trace elements, and yttrium and R…
(Table 1) Trace element/Ca ratios of Orbulina universa shells from late Neogene Mediterranean samples
2008
A Mediterranean composite sedimentary record was analyzed for Ba/Ca ratios on carbonate shells of Orbulina universa planktonic foraminifer (Ba/Ca)carb providing the opportunity to study and assess the extent of freshwater inputs on the basin and possible impacts on its dynamics during the Tortonian to Recent period. A number of scanning electron microscope analyses and auxiliary trace element measurements (Mn, Sr, and Mg), obtained from the same samples, exclude important diagenetic effects on the studied biogenic carbonates and corroborate the reliability of (Ba/Ca)carb ratios in foraminifera calcite as indicators of seawater source components during the studied interval. A long-term trend…
A two-dimensional oxamate- and oxalate-bridged Cu(II)Mn(II) motif: crystal structure and magnetic properties of (Bu4N)2[Mn2{Cu(opba)}2ox].
2013
A new compound of formula (Bu4N)2[Mn2{Cu(opba)}2ox] (1) [Bu4N(+) = tetra-n-butylammonium cation, H4opba = 1,2-phenylenebis(oxamic acid), and H2ox = oxalic acid] has been synthesized and magneto-structurally investigated. The reaction of manganese(II) acetate, [Cu(opba)](2-), and ox(2-) in dimethyl sulfoxide yielded single crystals of 1. The structure of 1 consists of heterobimetallic oxamato-bridged Cu(II)Mn(II) chains which are connected through bis-bidentate oxalate coordinated to the manganese(II) ions to afford anionic heterobimetallic layers of 6(3)-hcb net topology. The layers are interleaved by n-Bu4N(+) counterions. Each copper(II) ion in 1 is four-coordinate in a square planar envi…
Phosphoraneiminato complexes of manganese and cobalt with heterocubane structure
1999
The phosphoraneiminato complexes [MnBr(NPEt3)]4 (1) and [M4Br5{NP(NMe2)3}3] with M = Mn (2) and M = Co (3) are prepared by melting reactions from the anhydrous metal dibromides with the silylated phosphaneimines Me3SiNPR3 (R = Et, NMe2) in the presence of potassium fluoride. All complexes are characterized by crystal structure analyses. 1 forms an only slightly distorted Mn4N4 heterocubane skeleton with an approximate Td symmetry and short Mn…Mn distances of average 295.7 pm. In the structures of 2 and 3 one μ3-NPEt3 ligand of 1 is replaced by one bromine atom with μ3-function. This leads to the novel heterocubane type M4N3Br with approximate C3 symmetry. The deformation of the cubic skelet…
Partitioning of nanoparticle-originated dissolved silver in natural and artificial sediments
2017
Sediments are believed to be a major sink for silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in the aquatic environment, but there is a lack of knowledge about the environmental effects and behavior of AgNPs in sediments. The release of highly toxic Ag+ through dissolution of AgNPs is one mechanism leading to toxic effects in sediments. We applied an ultrasound-assisted sequential extraction method to evaluate the dissolution of AgNPs and to study the partitioning of dissolved Ag in sediments. Silver was spiked into artificial and 2 natural sediments (Lake Hoytiainen sediment and Lake Kuorinka sediment) as silver nitrate (AgNO3 ), uncoated AgNPs, or polyvinylpyrrolidone-coated AgNPs (PVP-AgNPs). In addition,…
Photoinduced chemiluminescence of pharmaceuticals
2005
Abstract A screening test for the forward development of chemiluminescence systems able to determine pharmaceutical compounds is reported. The test is based on the on-line photodegradation of the drugs by using a photoreactor consisting of 697 cm × 0.5 mm PTFE tubing helically coiled around an 8 W low-pressure mercury lamp. Photodegraded pharmaceuticals are detected by direct chemiluminescence of the resulting photofragments and their subsequent reaction with potassium permanganate in sulphuric acid medium as oxidant. The screening comprised 97 compounds with different molecular structures and relevant members of the most important families of pharmaceuticals are tested (amino acids, carbox…
Manganese overload affects p38 MAPK phosphorylation and metalloproteinase activity during sea urchin embryonic development.
2014
Abstract In the marine environment, manganese represents a potential emerging contaminant, resulting from an increased production of manganese-containing compounds. In earlier reports we found that the exposure of Paracentrotus lividus sea urchin embryos to manganese produced phenotypes with no skeleton. In addition, manganese interfered with calcium uptake, perturbed extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) signaling, affected the expression of skeletogenic genes, and caused an increase of the hsc70 and hsc60 protein levels. Here, we extended our studies focusing on the temporal activation of the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK) and the proteolytic activity of metalloprot…
Adsorption enrichment of some azo dye complexes on a carbon paste electrode and its application to the determination of small concentrations of cobal…
1974
The azo dyes eriochrome black T, eriochrome blueblack R and eriochrome blueblack B and their complexes with cobalt, manganese and magnesium show adsorption enrichment on carbon paste electrodes, dependent on the composition of the electrode filling. This effect may be used for the determination of cobalt and manganese by a.c. voltammetry in the 10−7 to 10−6 M range. Standard deviation has been found to be ± 3.2 and ± 3.5%, respectively.
