On the Use of Metal Purine Derivatives (M=Ir, Rh) for the Selective Labeling of Nucleosides and Nucleotides

2014

The reactions of neutral or cationic IrIII and RhIII derivatives of phenyl purine nucleobases with unsymmetrical alkynes produce new metallacycles in a predictable manner, which allows for the incorporation of either photoactive (anthracene or pyrene) or electroactive (ferrocene) labels in the nucleotide or nucleoside moiety. The reported methodology (metalation of the purine derivative and subsequent marker insertion) could be used for the postfunctionalization and unambiguous labeling of oligonucleotides.

Direct catalytic cross-coupling of alkenyllithium compounds

2015

A catalytic method for the direct cross-coupling of alkenyllithium reagents with aryl and alkenyl halides is described. The use of a catalyst comprising Pd-2(dba)(3)/XPhos allows for the stereoselective preparation of a wide variety of substituted alkenes in high yields under mild conditions. In addition (1-ethoxyvinyl) lithium can be efficiently converted into substituted vinyl ethers which, after hydrolysis, give readily access to the corresponding methyl ketones in a one pot procedure.

Equilibrium, Kinetic and Structural Properties of Gallium(III) and Some Divalent Metal Complexes Formed with the New DATAm and DATA5m Ligands

2017

The development of 68Ge/68Ga generators has made the positron-emitting 68Ga isotope widely accessible and raised interest in new chelate complexes of Ga3+. The hexadentate 1,4-di(acetate)-6-methyl[amino(methyl)acetate]perhydro-1,4-diazepane (DATAm) ligand and its bifunctional analogue, 1,4-di(acetate)-6-pentanoic acid[amino(methyl)acetate]perhydro-1,4-diazepane (DATA5m), rapidly form complexes with 68Ga in high radiochemical yield. The stability constants of DATAm and DATA5m complexes formed with Ga3+, Zn2+, Cu2+, Mn2+ and Ca2+ have been determined by using pH potentiometry, spectrophotometry (Cu2+) and 1H and 71Ga NMR spectroscopy (Ga3+). The stability constants of Ga(DATAm) and Ga(DATA5m)…

Metalation of aromatic heterocycles by yttrium alkyl complexes that contain a linked amido-cyclopentadienyl ligand: synthesis, structure and Lewis ba…

2002

Abstract The reaction of the half-sandwich alkyl complex [Y(η5:η1-C5Me4SiMe2NCMe3)(CH2SiMe3)(THF)] with furan and thiophene gives metalation products [Y(η5:η1-C5Me4SiMe2NCMe3)(μ-2-C4H3X)]2 (X=O, S) which are sparingly soluble in hydrocarbons due to the dimeric structure. Single crystal X-ray structure analysis of the 2-thienyl complex confirms a six-membered core with bridging sulfur atoms and trans-disposed amido-tetramethylcyclopentadienyl ligands. In contrast to THF and pyridine, 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME) forms isolable, crystalline adducts [Y(η5:η1-C5Me4SiMe2NCMe3)(2-C4H3X)(DME)]. Single crystal X-ray structure analysis of the 2-furyl derivative shows a four-legged piano stool configura…

Selective ortho-metallation reaction of the phosphine P(o-ClC6H4)Ph2. Synthesis and crystal structure of [Rh2(μ-O2CCH3)3(μ-(ClC6H3)PPh2(OH2)2]·CHCl3

1993

Abstract From the reaction of [Rh2(O2CCH3)4(MeOH)2] in hot acetic acid with P(o-ClC6H4)Ph2, two monometallated compounds [Rh2(O2CCH3)3(C6H4)P(o-ClC6H4)Ph(HO2CCH3)2] (1), already described, and [Rh2(O2CCH3)3{(ClC6H3)PPh2}(OH2)2] have been isolated. The new compound has been characterized by an X-ray study. It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1. It contains three acetate groups bridging a Rh24+ unit that has a Rh-Rh bond distance of 2.426(1) A; the fourth bridging ligand is derived from one P(o-ClC6H4)Ph2 metallated in the halogenated ring. The two water molecules occupy the axial coordination sites.

Orthometalation reactions in trifluoroacetate dirhodium(II) compounds. Molecular structure of Rh2(O2CCF3)2[(C6H4)PPh2]2·(PPh3)2·2(C7H8)

1994

Abstract Rh 2 (O 2 CCF 3 ) 3 [(C 6 H 4 )PPh 2 ]·(HO 2 CCF 3 ) 2 reacts with PPh 3 yielding the doubly metalated compound Rh 2 (O 2 CCH 3 ) 2− [(C 6 H 4 )PPh 2 ] 2 ·(HO 2 CCF 3 ) 2 . The reaction proceeds via a reactive intermediate with an equatorial phosphine, Rh 2 (η 2 -O 2 CCF 3 )(μ-O 2 CCF 3 ) 2 [(C 6 H 4 )PPh 2 ](PPh 3 )·(HO 2 CCF 3 ), which can also be generated in moderate yield under photochemical conditions. The structure of the PPh 3 bis-adduct Rh 2 (O 2 CCF 3 ) 2 [(C 6 H 4 )PPh 2 ] 2 ·(PPh 3 ) 2 ·2(C 7 H 8 ) has been determined by X-ray diffraction. Halogenomercury Salts of Sterically Crowded Triazenides - Convenient Starting Materials for Redox-Transmetallation Reactions

2010

Diaryl-substituted triazenides Ar(Ar′)N3HgX [Ar/Ar′ = Dmp/Mph, X = Cl (2a), Br (3a), I (4a); Ar/Ar′ = Dmp/Tph, X = Cl (2b), I (4b) with Mph = 2-MesC6H4, Mes = 2,4,6-Me3C6H2, Tph = 2′,4′,6′-triisopropylbiphenyl-2-yl and Dmp = 2,6-Mes2C6H3] were synthesized by salt-metathesis reactions in ethyl ether from the readily available starting materials Ar(Ar′)N3Li and HgX2. These compounds may be used for redox-transmetallation reactions with rare-earth or alkaline earth metals. Thus, reaction of 4b or 2b with magnesium or ytterbium in tetrahydrofuran afforded the triazenides Dmp(Tph)N3MX(thf) (5b: M = Mg, X = I; 6b: M = Yb, X = Cl) in good yield. All new compounds were characterized by melting poin…

Synthesis and Structure of a Potassium Potassiochromate: A Bis-Chromium(II) Molecule Held Together by Near-Square-Planar Potassium−Ligand Bridges

2010

No Cr-Cr bonding is found in a new type of mixed-metal ate complex having two coordinatively unsaturated but sterically saturated bisamido-monoalkyl Cr(II) groups linked via an unusual near-square-planar-coordinated K atom in the moiety of the ate, while the cationic moiety is a separated iris-tmeda solvated second potassium atom.

Unique distal size selectivity with a digold catalyst during alkyne homocoupling

2015

Metal-catalysed chemical reactions are often controlled by steric hindrance around the metal atom and it is rare that substituents far away of the reaction site could be differentiated during reaction, particularly if they are simple alkyl groups. Here we show that a gold catalyst is able to discriminate between linear carbon alkynes with 10 or 12 atoms in the chain during the oxidative homocoupling of alkynes: the former is fully reactive and the latter is practically unreactive. We present experimental evidences, which support that the distal size selectivity occurs by the impossibility of transmetallating two long alkyl chains in an A-framed, mixed-valence digold (I, III) acetylide compl…

3-(Pyridin-2-yl)[1,2,3]triazolo[1,5-a]quinoline: A Theoretical and Experimental Analysis of Ring-Chain Isomerisation

2009

In the course of the synthesis of new fluorophores for molecular recognition an experimental (1H NMR) and theoretical (DFT) study of the ring-chain isomerism of 3-(pyridin-2-yl)[1,2,3]triazolo[1,5-a]quinoline derivatives (A) into 2-([1,2,3]triazolo[1,5-a]pyridin-3-yl)quinoline derivatives (B) has been carried out. The rearrangement is influenced by steric and electronic effects of the substituents present on the quinoline ring. (© Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2009)
