The Denison Organizational Culture Survey (DOCS) is one of the most used instruments in the study of organizational culture. The aim of this study was to evaluate the convergent validity of the Spanish version of the DOCS using the Organizational Culture Inventory (OCI) developed by Cooke and Lafferty. This instrument is the most widely used and researched tool in the field of organizational psychology. The convergent validity of these instruments was evaluated using Pearson’s correlation analysis. In this dissertation, the dynamics between leader and follower is the focus. This dissertation contributes to knowledge and understanding of the leader-member exchange (LMX) theory in Chinese organizational settings. The research has three aims. The first aim is to increase knowledge of the LMX theory by contextualizing the theory in the Chinese setting. Drawing upon discussion of the role of guanxi, Chinese social values is elaborated in LMX. The research looked into specialized literature on new development of business in the post-crisis era and, on another hand, on leadership and organizational culture, in order to establish a possible profile of the most efficient management and organizational culture adapted to the new challenges of business environment, intending to demonstrate that managers need to develop leadership traits and re-shape organizational culture for a better business performance.
Adaptación al castellano y estructura factorial del Denison Organizational Culture Survey

[EN]: This article presents a Spanish adaptation of the Denison Organizational Culture Survey, a questionnaire designed to evaluate organizational culture. This survey consists of 60 items, grouped in 12 subscales, which identify 4 cultural dimensions. These dimensions have been widely studied and their influence in organizational effectiveness has been accepted. This adaptation was applied to 488 participants, and analysed with confirmatory factor analysis. Results show adequate psychometric properties, so it can be concluded that the Spanish adaptation almost completely replicates the structure of the original version in English. © 2009 Psicothema.
